  1. To be honest for your use, I would have thought a scope with a 3_12 x 44 would be fine but an 'AO' model will be a major advantage so that you can focus up on the target. Phil
  2. You will not go far wrong with that, ENJOY Phil
  3. Just as a matter of interest lads, I had an invite to attend a presentation given by Lincolnshire police to launch a new system for license application, renewal and variation. The new scheme is being launched in Lincolnshire and is online in order to speed up the process. I asked the bobby who came to see me the other day but he knew nothing of it and between us we could only see an improvement in the initial process because the officers will still need to do the leg work so jury is out on this one but IF it speeds things up, spot on. My wife sent in her shotgun certificate for renewal
  4. Well I NEVER thought of that Mark............................hell of a good idea but I think either my cats or one of the many foxes in our village would mess things up a bit AND my youngest daughter would kill me........................................................................I love it mate. Nice one. Phil
  5. I don't do face book and never will although I know I do miss out on some good shooting topics but the shite and trouble I hear from that place is something I don't want to get involved in, I will stick with the abuse on here Never met Si but respect his ability but must say the vid clip on the link is the worst thing to post on any media format, seeing the squirrel flicking about as we all know they do at times is giving the anti brigade and some arsehole reporter just what they want............................an easy target, the hunter. Phil
  6. Welcome aboard matey How things have changed, yes, I thought that a few years ago after coming back into airguns after many many years away. The art of getting land to shoot on is in my humble opinion, ask EVERY person you know for ratting or crow problems etc etc and ask if THEY know any land owners, be creative in the search. You may well be surprised at some of the places some of the guys on here shoot or used to, from churches to industrial estates to allotments to manor houses to large farm estates, just keep at it. Phil
  7. And stop wearing pink in the field Dave, that will help no end me old mate. Phil
  8. 100% agree, what have you got to lose...... Phil
  9. Traitor in the airgun section , hang him , shoot him or off with his head I say all three just to make sure Another one that will just pop in from time to time just like our David then there will be your self when you get yours atvbjimmy  Oh ye of little faith Jimmy.
  10. Fair point Mitch.............................................................................................I'm doing it anyway.......................nah nah nah
  11. Thank you Renos, it sounds complicated to a numpty like me but I'm sure one of my daughters will understand. Phil
  12. But of course Jamie, but of course.
  13. I don't have anything of that order Jimmy but if you contact any steel stockholder, they will have loads of offcuts which I am sure they would give you. Have a look in yellow pages for steel stockholder and steel fabricators locally mate. Phil
  14. I have been looking into the subject of reloading 12g cartridges and there is no advantage at all BUT the price advantage shows when loading 3 /3.5'' mags or smaller gauge shells and very much with .410. Clay and Game reloading is a good place to start and helpful people. I kicked the idea into touch but may well now buy a loader for wildfowl cartridges as they are so expensive. http://www.claygame.co.uk/ Hope that may help Phil
  15. Hi mite Ay you sure it aint Kangaroos your after. (with an Aussie accent ) or are you just tooooooo pissed to place the photo the right way around Phil
  16. Right my photobucket has completely locked me out even after the twats have just taken my £24 fee, anyway, how are you guys posting photos because I am going to have to set something else up now. Please don't go all tech head on me though because I am pretty shite with computers and will need either my daughter or son in law to sort it as I will no doubt fcuk it up. Phil
  17. Cheers Dave, I have bought an Anschutz .22lr and confess I am really looking forward to picking it up. Phil
  18. I don't know about you guys but we have the tail of this hurricane blasting the Lincolnshire Wolds which offered a challenge last night on a bunny hunt. The rabbits were out although nothing closer than 50-60mt and with the sky we had creating big shaddows, it was just not possible to get closer. Now I have no issues shooting at this range and quite bit bit further but the wind last night, OMG My shooting partner, Chris, was walking with me looking into the Nite Site screen, that shot was underneath then to one side then over the top........................................and so the eveni
  19. That really is just bad news with your pal's gun. I had two Wildcats which took a shed load of pellets with no issues at all and my Impact is the best gun I have owned ...........................but...............it is FAC. The production of the Impact is something like %+ fac with the altered ones coming here at sub 12 and I do think these guns are designed for fac which is where the vast majority are sold. I have not heard of any issues with FAC versions although a barrel fault should never have got through. Tell your pal to phone Simon at ASI and advise him of the barrel issue or of
  20. Well I am inclined to agree that a number of people will go for FAC as I did myself. I have been very happy with FAC Air but just awaiting for my variation to come back as I have a rimfire .22 on hold at the RFD. Phil
  21. I agree that it is only a matter of time before a license will be issued for airguns. I do not have an issue with this as I have a license for my shotguns and FAC so one more won't bother me BUT my only concern is that any new law passed, should have been discussed and detailed with the shooting associations so that we are not faced with regulations that do not take into account of what the guns are used for by legitimate users. It is time for everyone to be members of BASC or NSRA to cover their activity which will in turn give the members chance to voice their views to their chosen assoc
  22. Your budget will dictate what make you can afford but given the option, an over & under with 30'' barrels. The three makes that you will simply not go wrong with are Beretta, Browning and Miroku, all well made, proven track record at clay shooting both local club and world class and will sell easily should you decide to move it on. I strongly suggest 30'' barrels simply because they are the most popular on the clay scene, again good for resale but far more than that, they lend themselves to many different uses including all clay shooting disciplines, walked up shooting, game shooting a
  23. After one phone chat with them last year, I came away thinking that they think they are 'gods gift to the airgun world' and would not deal with them on principle and all that tosh regarding FX Impact, what a load of rubbish. I don't blame you one bit Mitch. Phil
  24. Can't disagree Mitch and I wouldn't pay full retail and that is for sure despite it being very good. Yep, really looking forward to getting my hands on the thermal spotters, hoping to get them before my hols but suspect they will not be ready by then. Phil
