  1. Weihrauch...............................Now that is a new one on me, I had no idea they made anything other than air rifles, well well well I am awaiting my variation to come back which should be about another two weeks, just missed a s/h Anschutz buy watching the rfd stock closely. I think CZ will be the easiest to get hold of and best price. Phil
  2. I have been trying to suggest what a load of old crap these rifles are but I will spend some time and money on it and it might be worth £25 after. He is not biting .............................................. bugger. Phil
  3. Nice one RFB, time and trouble have produced an interesting result. If you are interested in taking it a stage further, I can send you some JSB selection and AA field which are again JSB made. PM me your address if you want to test some. Phil
  4. I have decided to go for a .22WMR after a great deal of deliberating and trying out my pal's 17HMR and we then have a selection of rifles between us including the .22LRs. The question :- what make / model guys. My thoughts are Anschutz or CZ but as always your experience and thoughts will be welcome. Phil
  5. Hey up Dave, I thought you had taken up fishing or something as you have not around for ages mate. Phil
  6. I keep seeing these thumbhole stocks which is really making me want to take my crappy beech stock off and get one of these. I might find something at the game fair. Phil
  7. As everyone has said, it sounds like a 'red letter' day or days, well done on the bonus foxes too. Phil
  8. Just had my first brew of the morning and on the other side of my garden wall are two foxes routing through the freshly cut silage. they are keen and were out here with in an hour of the tractor pulling out last night. Good result mate. Phil
  9. If only it was mine but when he gets bored with it.................................it's mine, for a while anyway. Phil
  10. Well not only did I buy the Tracer torch, light as a feather and what a beam but now bought a Nitesite Wolf at a recent shooting show for £319 new. The stand were selling all three models for Nitesite at super prices and selling loads of them. Anyway, I am well pleased with the Wolf, just need the dark nights back again. My wolf and the Tracer I recon is on a par with the Eagle although to be honest I doubt I will ever need to use the Tracer now. Phil
  11. will give that a whirl RFB, thanks Phil
  12. I like these Jimmy, I think you may get quite a few orders mate. Phil
  13. Looking really good Jimmy but how and where am I going to fit one on my Impact ???? These will make quite a statement on any rifle other than mine. ? Phil
  14. I actually got a quick look at the rifle in question last night but was on my way out so didn't have time to play with it. The wood is spot on with no rough treatment showing at all but the metalwork is in need of a little TLC as there is some rust spots on quite a bit of it. This is not however a rustbucket by any means and a few wipes with steel wool, will remove the rust spots easily. Now the next step for my son in law is to give the rifle to me.............................well I doubt that will happen so I need to look for cold 'bluing' repair solution. Can anyone point me in the ri
  15. My son in law has just been given a BSF Mod S60 spring air rifle which I think may be in the region of 30 years old and made in Germany west as printed on the gun. Anyone have any info on these. I will get some photo's and post them on here. Phil
  16. I think this method may be local to you Jimmy as I asked for a pal at two rfd's in my area but neither did a staggered payment system. Phil
  17. My 1417 using a SAK and RWS subs is almost totally silent, you are not using HV ammo are you as that is louder. Phil
  18. No question about it Ian, many people simply do not realise just how capable fac air rifles are and I will add my Impact .25 fac to that. To be honest, the Impact will do everything my rimfire will do providing it is not too windy. Phil

    Impact

I take your point regarding tree top shooting but the real beauty of the Impact is that it takes a second to take the power down to what you want but don't bother with poor quality pellets when you are buying (or possibly thinking of buying) an expensive gun like the Impact. If I can go from 25 - 47fpe using the main power dial, then you will not have any issues using a decent pellet and tuning the power to what you are happy with.
  20. Ebay often sell gun stock ovals which may interest you Jimmy. I know these are not flat but you never know mate when you start to scratch build stocks, they might be handy but not cheap. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=gun+stock+oval&_sacat=0 Phil

    Impact

I must say that after spending a bloody fortune on .25 pellets, non of the H&N pellets came anywhere near close to the JSB / AA pellets and after all, FX only use JSB in all testing and their own brand is JSB. If you are thinking of a 20gr pellet will give you a better trajectory, DON'T worry about that as the 25.4gr flies very flat. At 65mt using my old Mamba Lite scope and the rifle zeroed at 25mt, it was only half a mildot holdover. Phil
  22. As with most forums Ian, people ask about the merits of certain guns / ammo or even cals and a number of sections, over time, could be a wealth of very useful information for the interested parties. Hmmm, food for thought Phil
  23. Interesting Jimmy, what are you making the recess for the coin with. Phil
  24. Interesting concept Ian, how do you see this developing. Phil

    Impact

My fac .25 runs on straight adjustment from 25 - 47fpe. I have not nor going to try it but using other aspects of the Impact, I was assured I could get down to around 11fpe and certainly higher than 47fpe but who needs it. Many of the problems with Impacts is the fact that you can 'tweek' or adjust until your hearts content but the problem is that many have buggered about with the settings taking the gun out of range of it's intended use causing all manner of issues in the process. I find by simply turning the power knob, all the adjustment is there that I may want. I use 25.4gr pell
