  1. Delivery from Ramsbottom's with my pellet supply arrived today, quicker and cheaper than Uttings so will be my first call in future. Oh yes, the packing is superb and far better than Uttings. Phil
  2. The other week I had my hide set up on a pea field for four or five days so I could just pop down for a couple of hours shooting. Unfortunately we had some pretty violent wind which made a mess of the hide or more to the point, hide poles, damaging the pole points. Two were missing and two which had been repaired before using fishing rod rests were buggered. My first thought was to buy some Jack Pike poles which look pretty good but at £50 for four poles, not cheap, then I saw some replacement pole bottoms on ebay. Both my pal and I bought a set of four at £15 per set, fitted and painted
  3. Just thought, in Market Rasen there is a GOOD shop, Forest Lodge Guns and not far from Lincoln. Phil
  4. Cheers boys. I have some JSB Kings Mitch and although they are supposed to be the same pellet, they don't group as well in my gun but I can use them in the meantime. I have now ordered some tins so back in business, Thanks. Phil
  5. I think the pump is a great idea if you want to incorporate a fitness training programme into the rifle filling, sort of dual action self harm ........................... I'm a fat ole tart so give me a bottle any day of the week. If you want to splash some cash, check out this FX pump up rifle but it will not fit your description as cheap !! http://www.fxairguns.com/rifle/the-independence/ Whatever you get, enjoy. Phil
  6. I know there are a few of you with .25 rifles so do any of you use the above pellets because Uttings are out of stock and I need some so any ideas for shops selling them would be great. Thanks Phil
  7. Carry on past us and you can get over to Cleethorpes or north of the Humber Bridge you can go to Hornsea or Bridlington, just depends what takes you fancy Phill.
  8. Cheers Mitch, I will look into that although in the field the noise level is not so bad but could be improved. After a chat with our Si Brown, I bought some felt from a local store and pinched a couple of large diameter hair curlers from my wife as she rarely uses them. Cut the curler down to fit the mod and the same with the felt, the result was that the sound level is well low out in the field and certainly less that when the gun had the extending shroud. The power coming from the air at 46fpe did move the felt and I was going to glue the felt in place but as Si said, I may need
  9. Only dealt with him once and never again. Phil
  10. The double chair is part of the frame so doesn't come out although I have thought of pulling it apart to use the basic shell but not so sure it will work. I would want £40 Phill so it will cost you more than a new one by the time carriage is added. Phil
  11. I bought a pop up hide a couple of years ago, I popped it up in the garden, hmmm okay for bunnies on a couple of places but in all honesty, I have never used it. Mine is the one with a double seat in and an open front ................................ this one https://www.a1decoy.co.uk/2-man-hide-tent-36-p.asp For sale if you want but the carriage will be a bugger. Phil
  12. You will not have to shoot left handed. I would suggest a top quality coach to really check on your capability for using the gun right handed. I have been shooting clays for well over 40 years at club and national level with a problem right eye (soft image) but still manage to straighten our trap layouts regularly and win a few sporting events as well. If you don't mind travelling for a good coach, get in touch with Hamish Patterson who is an excellent coach and someone I have sent a number of people to, all of which have been delighted. Due to the change in the law, I won't post his mobile on
  13. The Varmint are cracking Jimmy, I should never have sold mine. God knows why there stopped making them and in my humble opinion, they are better than the Vantage. Phil
  14. Co2 powered guns are very prone to changes in temperature but but PCP other than outlined by Deker above. Phil
  15. Must admit to fancying the higher power for one of the powder burners Mark but the one I have on the Impact is really nice. Phil
  16. Good on yer RFB, you are clearly starting to enjoy yourself with these pellet tests, must admit I really enjoy pellet testing. Phil
  17. Yes there is a method to fasten a sling and I think it was Matt Dubber who has one on his Impact. I didn't find that I needed one so didn't bother but I do believe that I have seen an arrangement where a picatiny sling clip was used up front and a slip loop on the shoulder pad if that makes sense. This method would be ideal if you want to carry the gun in a level position rather than hung over your shoulder, barrel facing up your back. Have a look at the US Guns of Arizona website as they might have something.
  18. MODS can you please transfer this to General section please, had a senior moment and put it in the wrong section. It's an age thing .................................................................... funny, I seem to say that far more nowadays !!!!! Phil
  19. A few weeks ago I sent my FX Impact down to ASI as I was getting a few inaccurate shots taking place, at first I thought it was me just shooting crap but after a chat with Tony at ASI, he decided to collect the gun and give it a service and a careful check overall. On some Impacts, the shroud can be very stiff, mine was one of these and no matter how careful I am to extend the shroud, I did wonder if I was applying side pressure causing clipping at the shroud end cap which happened once before. I did say to Tony that whilst I like the shroud, I think because of it being stiff, I would pr
  20. Sell it Jimmy, it will be a deposit on the Impact. My rfd has a sub 12 Impact, mint, I was tempted but can't afford it so there we are. Phil
  21. Good to hear you are on the mend Jeff and even better getting ready to shoot again. Enjoy it mate and take care. Phil
  22. Now that is interesting, I will have a look but that will have to be later or tomorrow as I am lucky enough to be going to a wedding ..........................................? Oh bloody joy Phil
  23. I did look at ammo prices and providing I am not using 50gr, there is little to choose between 17HMR and 22WMR and I won't be using tons of ammo anyway. Phil
  24. Weihrauch...............................Now that is a new one on me, I had no idea they made anything other than air rifles, well well well I am awaiting my variation to come back which should be about another two weeks, just missed a s/h Anschutz buy watching the rfd stock closely. I think CZ will be the easiest to get hold of and best price. Ammo cost is a factor as I am retired so I pay enough out on my 12 gauge cartridges so I am not wanting another costly ammo and one of the reasons why I am not interested in centre fire. Phil
