  1. That is a good way to spend an hour or two this afternoon mate. I can see the Photon would be making the gun well out of balance Si and it is one of the reasons that I like the Nitesite as it is sooooo light, ok not as high tech as thermal but that is way out of my reach but nevertheless I am well used to the Viper and Wolf now and they work for me. I am going to rethink the scope situation though Si as I am not happy with the Airmax although I am not knocking the quality of the glass, it is just my right eye getting a little worse so I need a different reticle and it is not good wi
  2. Nice going Si. What did you use for NV last night because you normally use the Photon so have you got an Add-On as well. Must admit after you saying you were putting the Endurance scope on, I have been toying with trying my Endurance and selling the Airmax...............................but then what do I put on my rimmy, hmmm Phil
  3. Deer stalking is not for you Jimmy, you have to be QUIET for that ?? Anyway we all know you WANT and NEED the Impact my old pal so no more of this not wanting one now because we have them, just keep putting pennies in the piggy bank matey. Phil
  4. The time is now 1.05pm and Si should be arriving at the big fella's house so shortly the envy from our Jimmy will be bursting out all over the place. Have a good weekend boys and Si, while you are there give Jimmy a kick up the rear to get that bloody fac application sorted..................................then order one of these Jimmy and you to could have the same smile that myself, Alan, Mitch and now Si has all across our faces. Enjoy setting it up Si. . Phil
  5. When Lincolnshire launched this method last year, it was said that the big advantage was that instead of a set of papers working it's way round all the different departments, the internal email would be used to send everyone the paperwork at the same time in order that all people involved could work on them when it suited their workload rather than simply piling up until a break in the pattern emerged. Not sure if that really works but we will see and lets face it, if this type of application comes into effect everywhere and for all gun certificates, it just might speed things up which is
  6. Ah Si, at last mate and a warm welcome to the Impact owners group. Pleased you got sorted BUT you have sold your son's rifle so you will be in deep smelly stuff mate because he is very close to the Impact in the photo so perhaps he has his eye on that soon. Get some AA Field or Exact 25.4gr pellets Si, they are superb in this rifle. Phil
  7. In some ways I am pleased that I cannot afford to buy a high end NV or thermal as I really would not know what to go for BUT as the pension pot ensures I cannot, I am very happy to stick with my two Nitesite units and despite how crap some people think they are, I still shoot plenty of rabbits and rats with them so they work for me. I do confess that if money allowed, a thermal spotter would be in my bag for certain. Also a huge help to find the bloody rabbits when they have been shot ................................... I lose quite a lot. Phil
  8. The original Viper is a superb scope, I am after one myself to swap out for my Hawke Airmax on the Impact but even on fac, that one is way to much mag. A 4-16 size is more than enough. Most of the time I am at 6-8x mag and min mag while finding the quarry then zoom in. Phil
  9. Impressive chaps, very impressive. That is one hell of a night you guys had, well done to you both. I do like the looks of the Vulcan although I have never seen one in the flesh, so to speak, but certainly appeals. Is it sub 12 or fac Alan. Phil
  10. Ah......... got it, only just twigged the message. Thank you. Phil
  11. One thing is for certain Jimmy, the Wildcats are lovely to use, it is only the mag that lets them down. I had both a .177 and .22 but 8 shot mag is rubbish when on the rats and I had them jump out of the gun a couple of times. If FX had upgraded the mags I would be wanting another. Phil
  12. It sounds like a plan Jimmy. The niggle in the back of your head has nothing to do with a fcuking Compatto matey so take a paracetamol and the niggle will go away. ? Phil
  13. Here is a UK seller although they are out of stock at the minute, these guys have a good name. All details are given here. http://www.customriflescopes.com/shop.html#!/Night-Vision-Laser-Rangefinder-with-500m-range-and-much-more/p/63402304/category=13698432 It can also be used in daylight as well. Hope that helps. Phil
  14. Nice one John. I added a Wolf to my Viper for longer range and well pleased with both. I was going to sell the Viper but in all honesty it performs better at close range so has become the ratting nv and the Wolf for the rabbits over stubble etc. As my right eye is not so good these days, the Nitesite allows me to shoot with both eyes open which may in long term be the only way I can shoot if things get worse. Good job it doesn't seem to have any effect on my clay shooting. Phil
  15. I suppose as a Pulsar unit it is not expensive but to be totally honest, if you really want a monocular, buy a Tecknova or Laserworks as they are sometimes known, half the price and a NV range finder built in. You will need a small IR torch fitted to get the best results but from a number of guys that have them, they seem to do a good job. Phil
  16. I have to say that my Impact fac .25 is my 'go to' rifle and rarely even bother taking the rimfire out as the Imp does it all. I really couldn't think of not owning it. Phil
  17. Never mind Si, you won't catch up to me so no issues matey. Appy berfday me OLD pal. Phil
  18. So Pepper are you the man to give me some good marks for fishing on Anglesey then. I know the bass are all to be returned but that is not an issue if I have the sport. Phil
  19. Yes please, that could be very useful for next time. Phil
  20. I'm not sure what to say Jimmy.......................................................................................very nice mate ? Phil
  21. Thats good Mitch, I know of several people who have contacted FX directly regarding product info or sales and each case they have said how quick they were and in most cases they were able to get the action that they are needing. Phil
  22. STOP FCUKING AROUND JIMMY, SAVE THE DOSH FOR SOMETHING YOU REALLY WANT MATE..........................................IMPACT ALL THE WAY. Phil
  23. I do love the place and will do some research for when I go again. Not sure Billy regarding keeping shot quarry chilled although a very good pal of mine has quite a few contacts on Anglesey so we might sort something together. I have had some amazing sea fishing there and will do again but this was not the trip to offer good catches even for the locals by all accounts. I am going to build a new beachcaster rod for the next trip........ Phil
