  1. I would not trust Gove for a moment, a sly little twat who deserves to be put in charge. BASC are in the process of writing to every MP in the land to apply pressure to get it sorted. Well I'm not sure that will do any good but for sure it will stir things up even more as the CLA, CA, NFU and a few others are supporting the move. It would not surprise me if a temporary reversal was put into place while this whole mess is sorted so perhaps the 4 new GL policies could be dumped BUT until that happens, the new GLs are in place so I do not see how anyone could be breaking the law by abiding
  2. Hmmm it would appear that whilst I was preparing to return home, the magic roundabout has turned again so god only knows if the three new licenses are going to be used at all. Watch this space I guess. Phil
  3. Sorry Jim, this is the first time for a long time I don't have any spares kicking around. Phil
  4. Defra do not have control of the GL yet and may not do so as there is so much false info and until it is announced from the gov office, I don't believe anything from Gove is supposed to have said. One thing we have is the three links I posted which is from the gov NE site so until otherwise stated, use them as they are laid out because that is what you have, nothing more and nothing less so speculation is a waste of time. We have only just arrived home from holiday so I have not had time to really digest the content but will over the weekend and I for one will work on the basis that
  5. You will have to read it Jamie because I have not done so but I can only assume it is a 'GO' situation unless of course it says something different. Phil
  6. Just been advised by my pal that a new GL for woodpigeon (GL31) and one for canada geese (GL28) have been released. Plus the use of traps and decoys (GL33) https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/799914/gl31-woodpigeons-prevent-serious-damage-to-crops.pdf https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/799913/gl28-canada-geese-preserve-public-health-safety.pdf https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/798011/w
  7. Love the beech stock in the first photos Mitch, the grain is fantastic mate. Phil
  8. From what I have read in various forums, internet, BASC etc, I really think we will just have to wait and see what is going to happen as there is a certain amount of fake news floating around so who knows what is actually correct. Phil
  9. Don't rub it in, I know that only too well ? Phil
  10. Our new quarry perm offers a complete wind free corridor and I am loving it. Phil
  11. Timmy, I have to say looking at your posts on this thread, well done mate, well written or well researched and very sensible sentiments. Phil
  12. Ah I see, sorry about that but if as you say it is a freeby, you cannot lose. If you find any cracks in the wood and can't be fixed although with people like Bigmack 97k or better known as Jimmy, he would be able to advise the best way of sorting it. I actually picked up a s/h 410 normal stock from mu RFD for £50 which replaced one of the split stocks so not the end of the world when the gun is a gift, it was more to do with is you were going to buy one. Good luck with the project and just remember there are some really very experienced guys on here so any problems with getting it sorted,
  13. Love the look of the 77 Jon. Is that you dressed in black with a bald head, the guy on the right. ? Phil
  14. The metal parts are a standard 410 so the 'lightweight' name comes from the stock they use. I'm sorry as I cannot remember what wood is used but I can tell you they are prone to splitting, I only know two people who own one and both have split to one degree or another. As a standard gun, not the lightweight, they have a lot of followers as many other guns do, not a gun I like but that is purely my opinion, I could not fault them as a good accurate rifle but in all honesty there are better guns out there. Value s/h is around £450 although with the wood issues perhaps a bit less. If I want
  15. It will be sorted Jimmy and that you can take to the bank my friend, this is just too big to have an entire industry being held to ransom which is why the NE are putting a temporary license to allow pest control to carry on while they sort the new general licenses out over the next few weeks. My buddy and I have touring round to see all our farmers and given them a copy of the statement made from the MP regarding the progress in what is going to happen. All our farmers are going to go online for a temp license so we can still go and shoot pigeon and crows. You know if this Packham twat h
  16. Well we just have to wait and see lads. Phil
  17. I don't think they could handle the sheer volume of requests for licenses either. I printed an Individual License off today, all eleven pages and the detail is considerable then think how many perms you have then all the maps to have verified with grid references...........................no wonder I was transferred to Natural England voicemail today but as yet they have not phoned me back...........................perhaps a bit busy. Phil
  18. I'm with you on the S200 Rez, I love the Mk2 split stock and I will get another at some point. Phil
  19. Me too Matt. I would love to know how many shooting men are actually affected by this. phil
  20. I phoned the NE line around 8.30am today and was told via voicemail they would be back to me as soon as a member of staff is available .............................................................................. still no reply..............................I wonder why that is. ? Phil
  21. Another shit for brains that needs a petition I believe.
  22. Easier said than done Jon although I live in a rural village and will be talking to the police to get their view on this. I phoned the NE office, switchboard somewhat blocked then I got through to voicemail who said all staff are tied up on calls (no surprise there then) and someone will return your call when a member of staff is available. I have a feeling this is going to be a long wait in the meantime I need to contact the farmers as this area is very busy at present drilling peas on which the pigeon will go mad..........................? Phil
