  1. Nice to see you back posting mate, boots still looks a picture of health. Hope the pups are doing you ok. Will have a catch up soon.
  2. Both out of Fuji's dogs, hairy one is his Boots x Fenn ( Saluki cross x all round lurcher type ) Big Lad is Boots x Roxy ( Saluki cross x 5/8 3/8 Bull. )
  3. These two for this season, need some refreshing on the lamp but fingers crossed they get plenty of opportunity
  4. been a great read this, persistence pays off
  5. Nothing to add but I ran a Pure Grey many years ago that was as good as anything I've had since except stamina wise, did get a few injuries due to pace but it killed everything from small rabbit to deer and had a hatred of teeth. I still reckon it was down to the fact I got him in my early teens and did everything with him. Never owned a lead with that dog after the first two weeks with him and used to sleep with my cat. Cracking thread this, thanks for everyone's input.
  6. very jealous, I need one of those after trying to forge a hardy bick from inch and a quarter tool steel
  7. is that a little power hammer in the corner there too? Nice set up
  8. Mine is an old bbq, coke fuelled and a bouncy castle blower to add the air, melts steel in seconds if I am not watching...
  9. that's really nice , your fit and finish has come on a long way. Quality damascus too
  10. that is a beautiful blade, top craftsmanship
  11. Very classy, your attention to detail is superb
  12. Really nicely done. Did you make your own 2 x 72 ?
  13. My big pup has done ok this season, still a big daft pup and apart from possibilities of call outs he is probably done for this season due to a real dab bout of gastro this last week causing him to drop 4kg. He is using his nose, switching on to the lamp game, just needs to meet some bigger quarry to look at . Best of all he is a pleasure to live with
  14. I started with stock removal but now forging from 1095 and d2 steel and the odd farriers rasp.
  15. I've one here, very good bull x put to a very capable saluki grey, not the average saluki grey, the strongest I've seen. He is 15 months now and maturing but apart from the rabbit game where he is a bit too big but still catches he is showing the right signs for a big all rounder. It's certainly a x I would have again as he is such a good dog to be around.
  16. Love this thread, Keith that pup is a corker, some amazing gestures on here, good lads.
