@Forager . Fairplay mate say you couldn't get a bitch of the same line or breed as the dog . Its a simple question ,Would you put it to your black bitch?
@stabs. Have you swallowed a dictionary lol? I get the bit about a" to many shades of grey" and a generalisation but you've lost me on " something issued for people who have but a passing interest, often by people who have little who have little working knowledge Of the type" and the bit about the the workings behind the glossy facade lol . Forgive my ignorance but can you clarify?
@downsouth. Fairplay mate I know you would do your homework and choose a dog of the same breeding. Stick with me now I'm only playing devils advocate. If you had seen a dog of different breeding be dug to week in week out and achieve more than any dog of the same breeding as your own. Also say the dog came from a line of workers that produce consistent grafters. Why would you choose a dog of lesser quality just because it was the same breed?
@Ginja John . So to confirm, you would put sid or that bitch to a jack russel or other breed . Like I said the theoretical dog or bitch would be superior to yours in graft , or would you wait for the right black dog?
My mates Owns a black bitch and his answer was he wouldn't use a jrt or any other breed no matter how good it was . He would wait for a dog of the same breeding that he thought was good enough. The reason "he doesn't like jrt or any other breed " lol
Me and a mate was having a chat and this question came up so I'll ask yous. Right for the sake of argument say you had a good bitch that you wanted to breed a litter from and the best dog that you knew of was a different breed say a jrt or pat lakie border whatever ,and said dog was a proper grafter in every way. Would
you use the dog over your bitch?
@ downsouth . Mate you'd know more about her breeding than me! I thought she was Brogs Allan to his half sister , I didn't know it went any tighter than that. Probably explains why all the litter looked like clones !
I've a strong young bitch hear thats line bred. But I've noticed she seems to get things quicker than usual, silly things really but her kennel mate has none of these problems. I've put it down to being closely bred. But like Glyn has already said " working will sort the wheat from the chaff"!
