@the breeder. Knowing Gj as I do I'll hazard a guess that he never bred the dog . Also I'll bet he never took the dog on as a worker but as a pet. So to get your answer "why bull" youd have to ask the jack russel bitch lol

I've only seen one that was taken out to do earth work. It started easy enough although we had to pick a big earth as the dog was a proper lump. Anyways long story short he jacked after two digs and wouldn't go to ground again . But would start a fight on top with anything. Not my cup of tea I prefer the none papered jacks jmho!

I'm sure a lot of people will say give it time and lots of encouragement , and I'm sure that's the right thing to do. But sometimes a dog might not be very good a the job you want it to do. I don't have any definitive answer as I had one the same last year and I couldn't get it to work as it was Fcuking useless!

Lads it seems from reading your posts that the Borders you work are good all round terriers doing ratting , bushing and going to ground . But are there any of you that use your Borders solely for earth work and dig to them on a regular basis? Lads this is a genuine question I'm not trying to have a snidey pop

@lukey. Yes you don't see many with mongrel terriers these days . Unless of course it's someone trying to earn cash by putting a shitzu or some such shite to a patterdale .
