Lads you can't image how chuffed I am. As some of you know I lost one lad and the other lad has been trying for a kid for ten years IVF false empty pregnancy and disappointments. My heart went out to them, thought I would never had a Grand child. Well five o'clock this morning a little girl was born and I'm now a Granddad. Cheers Arry

This one has been bothering me mate. I don't recognise it, its them bulbous long stalks. Been on the web and through my books and think it might be "The White Dapperllng". Not edible See what you think mate. https://www.zoology.ubc.ca/~biodiv/mushroom/L_leucothites.html Cheers Arry

Mate I don't know you, but stand proud and think what she would want you to do. I know there's a hole in your heart right now but I can tell you there is light at the end of the tunnel. Think of her imagine what she would tell you to do. Do as she would want to do and that would not be something silly. I've been in that dark place Keith the are better time to come. PM if you want to talk mate.

Raining to day so gave the Ferreting a rest and went out foraging for Mushrooms etc. My ferreting mate stopped on the way to mine picked a load of nice Field Mushrooms, after a cup of tea we set off to the side of the Moor. Well fungi every were, didn't have a clue what a lot of it was. I just stick to the ones I do know and there was some good "Hedgehog Mushrooms" and under a Sweet Chestnut Tree there were six "Hen of the Wood's", over the moon with that. Lucky if I find one or two in a season, Found seven in the last two days. Just two "Chanterelles" (the yellow ones)and the two with ye

Let them get bigger mate so they open up and can see the proper colour of the gills. I don't think they are Field Mushrooms the gills would be pink at that stage. Be careful mate. Have a look at this site see if it's any help. https://www.wildfooduk.com/mushroom-guide/ Cheers Arry

Well chuffed with this "Hen of the Woods" posh name "Maitake" common name "Sheep's Head". Its a well tasty fungi keeps well. Grows at the base of Oak trees and if you find one look around the area at all other Oak trees and check the same place each season. Very safe the only thing you could confuse it with might be "The Giant Polypore" also known as the "Blackening Polypore" which goes black on cutting, hence the name. But this is edible as well. So, Tell Us, What Are Ye All At In The Veg Garden?
Arry replied to JohnGalway's topic in Living Off The Land & Game Cooking
Well leeks looking okay, but had one that just seem to go up. It was twice the height of the other with a smaller circumstances, must an odd seed that got in there some how. Thought maybe it was one that was going to bolt, but on cutting it was okay. Cheers Arry -
I think it might be a good idea, that after a Genreal Election that ALL MP's would have to be sworn in. Swear an oath that they will HAVE respect a democratic vote. It would be illegal not to. We would not be in this mess if MP's if they had just respected that vote. Imo in the results of referendum they should have never give out what areas voted what, just given the end result. Then the SNP and MP's areas that voted to remain would never had an excuse to kick off and go against democracy. May had some shady deal cooked up I recon and not just the one we saw. I have away been very

I saw an exhibition of photographs up on the Moor at Prince Town all taken on a iPhone, they where amazing. A lady who sales post cards, calendars and framed photos. The results she gets outstanding and often carrying a baby in a backpack type thing while she is out and about. So I would not rule it out. Cheers Arry -
It was a comical fishery mate down around Bay of Biscay I believe, Spanish and Portuguese rod and line. Our boats went down and upset them using gill nets and longlines. I think it was resolved when we left them to it. I seen film of people fishing for them in the North Sea when there were still Herrings were still around. I know your area as I was on a fishing boat Gurdying for Mackerel back in the 70's when the Scottish purse seiners came down and finished that off out of Falmouth mate. Thanks for sharing your videos with us. I like to say as well I like your conservation st
