For some reason,  they got wiped out around here.  Was loads years ago, now nothing

Used to have them regularly in my garden then nothing for years, this is the first year I,ve seen them I have 3 different ones visiting, the hot dry weather seems to bring them out more I think they struggle to find worms and snails etc, as soon as it rains they come for the food a lot less, in truth I probably wouldn’t no they were about if my garden wasn’t camera,d  up,

I know it's said that intense farming practices and use of pesticides can kill them off, plus a large badger population, but we don't have that here. Would like to know what killed them off.

We have 3 or 4 all year til they hibernate; feed then sunflower hearts like the birds and they also go to the water. They're at ours nightly and have been for a couple of years now.

Yeah proper job that will be around a few years

Misus was guna order one and I looked at it and looked at price and build quality and stopped her. Probably not much cheaper what I've done but it's bigger, better built, treated timber, better commercial type accessories so it should last for a hell of a lot longer.??

Reckon it'll last till these two are bored of it that's for sure.
