Johnny would you say football or rugby is more popular in Wales ?.......a Welsh chap i spoke to today reckons football but because they,ve never been any good at it they always say rugby :D

I'd say football is bigger up north but rugby is bigger down south where I am.

At international level it's always going to be the rugby here in Wales IMO. I reckon there's more participation in football though. Even the really small villages round this way have a football team, the rugby clubs are in the bigger towns in general, although there are a few village rugby clubs here and there. Same could be said for cricket though, loads of village teams.

There 4 rugby teams in my town ! Rugby a huge here as a youngster if you played rugby it meant 2 things always had friends and girls loved you haha

Would always say take your kids to rugby people you play rugby with are friends for life a friend of mine mother died a few months ago he played rugby with me from 6-14 and all the old team got together and attended the fundrel his old man cried his eyes out seeing us lot all together again and I know when the sad day comes when my parents pass all those boys will be there

We've been off touring in the Midi-Pyrenees region of France. The other night we were on a remote little camp site in the middle of nowhere. They had a small outdoor bar / restaurant with a TV and it was packed with locals watching the Germany v France match. We knew the score just from their reactions, and after the match the car horns were sounding way into the early hours. Reminded me of when Greece won it a few years back. I was in Cyprus at the time and the party went on to well after dawn. :laugh:
