What do you advertise to do pal? General maintenance! (ie D & K Maintenance) Yesterday I had my regular Astro Turf jet washing job, 3 1/2 hours for £ The day before cutting Ivy from a 1760`s Manor House wall (I've a ceiling to paint and a cat flap to fit there Monday) Fencing is a good one, as is general plumbing! Around here I can charge £200 to fit a pair of Bath taps (taps £40-70) which is no more than 2 hours work. I advertise Rabbit, Pigeon and Fox control (lots of farms and small holdings locally) I don't charge for this but pick up work while out and about. Garden Work: G

Bad luck! This happened to me 3 years ago! Same time, just on the run up to Xmas. I didn't know what to do? My advice is be safe, register self employed, get insured, (mine is £90 per year) use an accountant (mine is £180 per year) an advertised (I use Gumtree) I've never looked back :-)

Fox Control With A .22
David Aiken replied to Daz Harrison's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I would say ask yourself, "can I humanely dispatch at the distance at which I am shooting, with the tool I am using" As far a I know, no one with a FAC has had to prove they can hit the quarry on their certificate at a given distance rendering the whole .22lr argument irrelevant if you can't hit the damn thing! Do I taken my .25 Patriot (31 ft lbs) out fox shooting: No. While out rabbiting would I use my .25 Patriot at 15 yards with a clean shot in good condition in daylight on a passing Fox: ??? -

Well rotted Horse manure. I used 4 trailer fulls on my 8` x 30` plot which was over 500kg. This gave me a bed of 12" to 14" But this was 2 years old and well rotted!

When applying for my .22lr to be used on one of my permissions, the FLO was concerned the land may be a little small. I mentioned FAC Air and his face lit up and agreed, but no indication of power was mentioned. So was that a 17 ft lb single shot .22 springer or a 100 ft lb multi shot .303, he didn't seem to mind! I've always liked the idea of FAC air being on your SGC up to say 30 ft lbs?

At last someones making sense and looking into the inappropriate practices of this organisation. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-34314004

All but one of my six permissions are now cleared for .22lr, I love my HW100 but it's not been used for rabbits since my FAC came through! I do use my Webley patriot .25 (31ftlbs) for anywhere the .22lr can`t be used, saying that, I could get some .22s (27gr @ 70ft lbs) for short distance rabbits?

I live in North Kent and walk in the woods several times per week plus drive the green lanes, I`ve never seen any evidence, let alone a live Boar! Paddock Wood, Tonbridge and near Whitstable plus further south in Hawkhurst have all had sighting, but I`m not sure how recently?

So, if we did this with a rifle, can you imagine the outcry and call for all hunting to be band! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/11854651/Man-prosecuted-for-catching-wild-deer-in-London-suburb-and-eating-it-at-Christmas.html

In 1999: David Bellamy, conservationist: "While we have hunting, shooting and fishing interests in this country we will have better landscape management. Without these interests, Britain would have become a prairie landscape." With this and his anti-global warming views, the BBC dropped him like a hot stone!

I can't fault my Jeep Grand Cherokee! 1998 £800 with the bullet proof 4.0lt 6 cyl engine. Never had a fault in 3 years, fast and pulls like a tank!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-34084352?SThisFB Now, I never go out of my way either on social media or via family and friends to announce my intention for a days Rabbit or Fox shooting. So why is Badger culling always announced in the news, on social media and in the papers?? Why not just inform the shooters to get the hell on with it without the song a dance?

The SMK range. I use a fixed 4x30 on my springer, cost £20. This one is under £8.00! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SMK-4x20-Fixed-Power-Air-Rifle-scope-/400154877840?hash=item5d2b16df90

What gets me is the common "flick" knife was designed for one handed operation, as in a WW1 soldier who now has one hand can continue jobs like gutting a Rabbit. Not as a weapon. I wonder how many deaths/stabbing were solely from "flick" knives to cause the ban?

My Spanish Masters SxS 12g was £45! Lovely rough Pigeon and Fox gun!

A friend found enough oak parquet flooring in a skip for the whole downstairs of her 4 bed bungalow. It came from an old school which was being demolished!
