    Military trained against someone who has only ever shot at targets. (you'll never get a FAC pistol to shoot / practice on live quarry in England) Plus, a pistol against a Kalashnikov? No, the carrying of a pistol would result in panic and the worst case scenario the police shooting a gun wielding member of the general public.

    We it's looking good for another permission! The Farm house behind my latest permissions have asked for me to shoot Rabbits. About 8 acres so every little helps! I'm wondering if it's a good time to ask for an open ticket? This will be my 6th permission this year!

    This is the bit that's pee's me off the most! Where did this information come from? So, it an illegal firearm? How has the high-powered bit come about?     I`ve no need at the mo as everything is around 80yds, but I have given them thought and may pick up 50 next time I'm at the gun store. I love the idea of the FAC Patriot more than the rifle i guess? But single shot @10lb 2oz with a small 32mm scope and the Anschutz coming in just @ 7lb 8oz with a 10 shot mag and 50mm scope gives the keeping of the Patriot even more question?

    Way more than the HW100s or 1417 .22lr but it is controllable. I think if I'd got a 80ft lb PCP it would have been more use. Being single shot make me even less likely to take it hunting as it's not the easiest break barrel to load>

    Well, much as it pains me I can't find a good reason to keep the new .25 Webley patriot FAC. I`ve been getting on so well with the 1417 Anschutz .22lr the Webley has only been out twice since I bought it new earlier this year. The range which I would use it on live quarry (sub 50yds) is the same as my HW100s so I can't find that reason for its place in the cabinet! Unless a good reason to keep pops up its going for £200 with a tin of H&N FTT 19.91gr and 100 H&N Baracuda .25 Cal, 31.02 Grains. (chrono with the 31.02gr - it's runs at a constant 30.2ft-lbs)

    My advice is ask yourself: 1. Do I wish to compete? 2. YES, maybe use steroids. 2. If NO, then how old am I? 3. Under 25, hit the weights, I mean work upto 300lbs bench, 350 squat, 400 deadlift. Shit loads of good food, no fags, no booze 3 - 4 times a week for a couple of years 4. No gains (I doubt it) consider steroids. 5. Over 40, go for it,

    I know the feeling! I did all this for years. I had my HW100s for 2 years before getting a rabbiting permission which I took over from a friend. It wasn't until a family member allowed .22lr on his stables in North Kent I got my FAC. My other 3 permissions were just luck! Being in the right place at the right time, a landowner had been let down. That grew into 2 more permissions. So, in conclusion, for me writing letters and visits did not pay off. But don't be disheartened, it's the best approach, keep at it and something will come along.

    Depends on the rifle? My HW100s has a Hawke Panorama EV 3-9x40 IR AO Rifle Scope - 1/2 Mil Dot, about £130? Always preformed well! My Anschutz 1417 has a Hawke Panorama EV 4-12x50 IR AO - Rifle Scope - 1/2 Mil Dot, again great scope!
