  1. This litter was a greyhound sire but it was the wrong way really imo your better off with a gh bitch, I think the key is the foxhound has to be a lighter type, the heavier English foxhound crosses I’ve seen look a little heavy for me.
  2. Very well mate and to you as well ??
  3. That dog isn’t but here is a picture of the litter sister to my current lurchers grandsire, an F1 fellhound x greyhound from about 20 years ago.
  4. Exactly pal that’s why working dogs as a general rule of thumb are healthy breeds, compared to the latest traits these so called judges like to see on the peds that are not actually good for the animal itself!
  5. Just flicked over and see a terrier category! what a shameful bunch of specimens they were, the JRT was shocking....but mores the Pity of the alleged judges casting there eye talking about the nice movement in the Scottie that went to the final??? Us working dog men might get stick or frowned upon by the non working fraternity or looked down on by some of these twats, but our Heinz 57, bitza, mongrols are worth 10 if most of these monstrosity’s on there ?
  6. Old Thomas is still going strong pal
  7. Can Anyone do Northern Ireland to Liverpool for reasonable money?
  8. Possibly Looking for transpiration from NI to Liverpool? Anyone know of someone
  9. Size does help in my opinion, obviously rabbits are short sharp sprinters so a dog must be able to match the quarry by being nimble or having abit of wit about them , there are always exceptions to a rule but I would say in lamping terms a dog capable of many fast and shorter runs with a good solid retrieve. Day time rabbit dogs need the nose and attention span more so than others.
  10. I hope you have many more years working dogs! What a joy it is to see a running dog in full stride ??
  11. Seen a few pics of these pups they look really good, its not often I see a litter like this, they don't look fazed at all.
  12. Depends on the situation/terrain and making the most of the moment to tip it in your favour! Its all about distortion to help the dog along so you do both when the time is right.
  13. http://www.dragondriving.co.uk/puppiesforsale-106704.html there is a litter here buddy.
  14. Well in fellas ony dream of them numbers...top nights lamping!
  15. Yeah sorry about the pic lads, feck knows why it did that. Good night out in the end!
  16. Finally had a good walk with the bitch, recently took her out for a spin but unfortunately with the wind there has been too much rain with it and consequently have not seen too much in the small ventures so far. Driving out and the rain was battering the windscreen, I wasnt getting too excited but at least the wind was holding up. First couple of fields and nothing out, I could feel the squelch underfoot but overtime the rain stopped and the wind kept howling. Then on a nice large field success a small burst of runs on a pocket of the land and 3 rabbits in the bag, by now it was getting drier a
  17. Spot on... is the patterdale the gamest terrier.??? Without getting all hung-up on a word, simply substitute game for hard and if then we are taking about terriers that work underground for this cross, then though you can find iron hard dogs of any type I'd stick my neck out and say there are probably more real hard black dogs than any other type... Plus in some lines you really can get leggy types and 'I' would put one of those to a good whippet before any German import. Surely the patt is the hardest terrier, Im think they where designed to kill a charlie in the ground, in the toughe
  18. would offer nothing we haven't seen? What makes the Jagd so great compared to our English terrier breeds.
  19. Doesn't surpise me the amount of labs out there this day and age - there seen as the classic family pet, trouble is every twat that knows nothing about dogs has one, there is no heirachy in the home. Labs are a decent sized working dog and good at what they do, probs don't get half the stimulation as a good working dog or half the excersize they need, typical show pony shite, I would imagine buck could retrieve them live to hand
  20. my bitch basically cocks its leg and marks posts like a dog, sometimes squats but alot of the time half cocks its leg, weird it is........cross dressing lurchers, what's the world coming too???......
  21. Just give the dog a steady regime on the bike, you will never walk a dog fit! 2-3 weeks of 3-4 miles a day on the bike and that dogs pads will be like a boxers mits - after that its all down to real running.
  22. If you want brains why slow the collie/grey down with an abomination?
  23. I have the PLR 500 they are good and nice and easy to use, but I do prefer a seperate battery as they run for longer.I have the LED lazerlite from cluson too for use with a seperate lithium, its completely waterproof and very sturdy, The hand held all in one lamps dont feel as tough but thats just my preference.
