The Kraken has woken. Seriously though, Sandro Tonali is the only truly world class player that we have had since Shearer, however much I rate the others. Will be interesting to see if the Arabs can keep him.

Newcastle v Brentford yesterday. Sandro Tonali. All the talk this year has been about Isak, and who is going to buy him. Last year it was Gordon. The year before it was Bruno. Players too good to remain at Newcastle. We shall see. But Tonali? Watching him this season, he is the one who no matter what happens at Newcastle, he will win medals, league cups, Champions League, Italy will be winning cups with him. The player of his generation.

A skilled breeder can recreate the phenotype in the most basic definition of phenotype in a few generations. The phenotype of most British breeds was never lost, so no reason to recreate them.

I do like THL. In the real world most lads that I have known tend not too be interested in how the dogs that we love came about other than the immediate ancestry. Some are not even bothered too much about that, if it works that is all that matters. If it doesn't, get rid and try another :-). I get that but do find the history behind what we now have interesting. Relevant pedigree and ancient history being very different things of course. But I have always been a nerd when it comes to working dogs. When it comes to the history part I have a theory, and I know how much working dog lads love

Whippets and whippet crosses develop mentally and physically quicker than the larger types. Very terrier like. Probably that's why I have always like them. But they need time to grow. Seen some flying by 12 month old and then keeling over way too soon.

An estimated 300,000+ took to the streets of Newcastle yesterday to celebrate winning a football match. The majority of those being white working class men. PS. I do not know the facts but apparently some Newcastle councillors where desperately fighting to prevent the victory celebrations from going ahead on the streets and wanted it confined to the ticket only event on the Town Moor. The very fact that they thought that they could stop it is evident of how little understanding or empathy they have of the people who they proclaim to serve.

Q) Can you run faster than a lion? A) I do not need to run faster than a lion, I only need to run faster than my bloke.

For we are mental, for we are mad!

Being broadcast live on UTube nufctv. 10,000's of daft Geordies out on the streets. Great stuff!!!

Jeremy Wade... I enjoy his programmes. He investigates ancient legend to account for people going missing around the world. Catches a fresh water fish no bigger than a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and the ancient myth has been solved. They just kill each other and chuck the body in the water.

My thoughts exactly. Most countries have experienced invasion, losing wars, revolution, changing borders. Those that have come through that type of tragedy and hardship cherish what they now have. GB, or at least those who have ruled us since the latter half of the 20th century are complacent and have no idea or appreciation of what we had/have and never had the brains or courage to defend it.

The word narrative. I have no problem with the word, my pet hate is that almost every journalist or reporter uses the word in every verbal or written report now. Sport, current affairs, news, local news. Why?

Que EMF Unbelievable (I need to work out how to post stuff on here).

In regard to liking it Dai Dogs, I think it very much depends on circumstances, forced or by choice? In my experience most people do not like it, lads and lasses. Personally, I have mostly preferred it, for the sake of my sanity as much as anything. But, not sure about ultimately dying alone. If I were to meet a beautiful sane woman who owns a farm... I could be persuaded to co-habit on a trial period.

Electricians hard to come by

Clean-up notices are common now. Every now and again the PC management teams will climb down from their ivory tower and have a rare venture onto site when everyone else has gone home. They take pictures of the state of their site and issue a clean-up notice across the board to all sub-contractors, failure to action within 24 hours results in everyone sent a bill for their labourers cleaning up. The majority of waste consists of plaster boards, timber and wet works rubbish. On closer inspection of the pictures an odd tie wrap or cable cutting can be seen. We are good, even if I do say so m -
A friend of mine had one. He was a genuine working dog man but had the time and kennel space to follow fashion. A very nice dog but not something that would suit if you only had the one and wanted to catch rabbits. Used to attract a lot of attention at terrier/lurcher shows and people would be queuing up to exchange phone numbers for use as stud. Did everything that could be expected of it as a terrier too big to go to ground and a lurcher too slow to catch a rabbit.

Electricians hard to come by
eastcoast replied to 3175darren's topic in Home Stuff, Building and Leisure
I started off as a labourer, was lucky enough to get the opportunity to serve my time, grafted for years on the tools and ended up senior management. I have seen the good the bad and the ugly at every level and will always defend an electrician. Truth being told though... they are the bunch of winging c**ts -

You can tell a good electrician by the mess he leaves behind -

Still 4 years for a spark, plumber or fitter to complete a proper apprenticeship and become properly qualified with certs to prove it. Colleges are conning young people. Agencies are poaching newly qualified lads by promising them long term contracts above labour norms. They end up on the agency merri-go-round. And their development ends, just chasing the next pay day. And skills remain at basic, just enough not to get sacked off in the 1st month.
