  1. That is something that has been on the agenda for me for a few years now. Something always scuppers my plans :-). Funnily enough just before reading this post I had got the urge to put a few rounds through one of my prized possessions. Just goes to show you cannot put a spring powered air rifle away for a few years and expect decent groups when you next pick it up. Won't say the range, embarrassingly close, hence the desire for a bigger garden. If I'd went for chest cavity them antelopes would have dropped though.
  2. I will pass on your comments at the next neighbourhood watch meeting.
  3. Well, my neighbour, Alan Shearer, said we could have have put the game to bed in the 1st half.
  4. A bit disappointed with my club Newcastle today. Should have had the game won in 1st half. Don't get me wrong, I'll never become a boo boy and I'm still pinching myself at the incredible transformation over the last few years. But today, too much f***ing about in and around the 18 yard box. Running onto passes and letting the ball go to a team mate or silly back passes to a team mate in situations where a shot at goal was on. Borderline showboating. Need to get back to the drive and hunger. So much talent there now though, loving it. But we're not the Harlem Globetrotters.
  5. I'm the one not wearing a skirt, no gender confusion in them days, even though my dickie bow looks a bit camp. Off to church dressed in Sunday best. Yes... times have changed.
  6. Hello Harry, I would assume you have read Lucas' classic? It was loaned to me by the man who sourced me my 1st working terrier (not the copy in the picture, he had a 1st edition), in my opinion the best book ever written on working terriers. The Mr. Chapman book was the last that I bought/read. The Daniele Piacentini just as a curve ball, interesting to read an Italian working terrier addict's perspective.
  7. Despite my crass comment on poodle blood, but it was a thing, I love Bedlington Terriers, they are in my blood. Been fortunate that friends have had them but never owned one myself. On the bucket list. The Granitor line was mentioned, tenuous link pictures obviously just from a book.
  8. Cheers Arry. Despite being a Nina Simone fan this song had passed me by, until listening to Desert Island Discs featuring Nick Cave, it was one of his choices. I find it rather beautiful. Thank you.
  9. Me in my prime, I wear glasses now.
  10. Fascinating listening to someone who was there during the development of a breed or had 1st hand knowledge from people who were. Even though he says that the "improvements" brought about to the KC Lakie were by producing more or less a black and tan wirehaired KC Fox Terrier. Great insight into the importance of coat and constitution in the genuine working Lakeland with the Fell packs. Thanks for posting it.
  11. I think most on here are preoccupied with WW111
  12. Using the same logic it could be argued that all the best Bedlingtons with a splash of Lakeland or Border have a splash of toy Poodle in them. From the KC Bedlington side.

    The Bible.

I never believed that pigs could fly until the 1st time an helicopter appeared in the sky whilst carrying out perfectly legal terrier work.
  14. The proper Geordie side of my family were from the Teams, south of the Tyne but an area that would be regarded as a more NUFC than SAFC catchment area, to use a modern term. All of my Geordie family were good, if not very good footballers. Some became professional, most remained pitmen. But always football fans and it was a thing in those days that true football aficionados would to take in a home game at St. James' and the next at Roker Park, time, finances and wor lass permitting. It was not until they all started dying, through old age nothing tragic, that I found out during the vicar
  15. "I still live in hope", love that Mr. Charts. I will never understand the attitude of we'll never win anything again in my lifetime, even though it has unfortunately been proven true in regard to some of my friends and family. Such a negative attitude to life. Things often unexpectedly change, and they have in regard to NUFC. Still won nowt, but how enjoyable is it watching the effort to change that? With an English manager at the helm. Bringing players in that did not cost silly money and improving them. Turning sow's ears into silk purses with the existing players. And young academy lad
  16. No need for anyone to worry, Gary Pallister has came up the perfect solution to get Man U back on track. All they need to do is sign Isak. He's far too good us anyway and needs to move to a big club, well that seems to be the opinion of everyone outside of Tyneside. It is not all bad news for us northern monkeys though. Pallister has suggested that we get Rashford in part-ex.
  17. Another training course at the North Shields Fish Quay venue. I found this lads work far more interesting.
  18. Difficult to find fault looking at the picture with only a front view. Could be too long or short. Hocks look a little high and stifle too upright. Possible turned out elbows on both. Very good heads, necks a bit short?
  19. I once sent a cheque to some random retailer for one of his books. The cheque came back direct from him. With an apologetic note that the book not was ready for publication and the money should stay in my account. It was like £10. An officer and a gentleman.
  20. Most cars less then 3 year old on the road the c**ts who are driving them do not own the vehicle, they cannot afford a car. But don't want the hassle or "paperwork" The ones driving the older cars, that's when it get's interesting. I own my car
