MK III Ford Cortina estate, 1.6 or 1.8L (I forget which), red with black vinyl roof. A good dog bus when it worked but that was hit n miss. Paid £350 for it, my life savings, on the dole at the time and dad went ballistic when he found out, 17 and on the dole. However, me and my mate had a plan, once mobile the world was our lobster and we would earn big bucks catching the big bucks. Only problem being that I had Jack Russells and his lurcher only really excelled in finding and retrieving hedgehogs. He loved to chase the big bucks but it never entered his head to actually try and catch one, bu

Both of my parents are now in a care home. People may judge and be of the opinion that the children owe it to the parents who cared for them to do the same when the tables are turned. I agree, but after 2 years+ of myself and my 2 sisters trying to keep them in their own home it became intenable with the ever increasing deterioration of their mental and physical health. And ours. But not a day goes by without a family member visiting them. Anyway, things are always going missing. Shoes, slippers, glasses and most annoyingly TV remotes. The residents wander around and go into other's rooms

Vote with your feet, but keep a keen eye on the people preparing your food if you go back.

Pardon, monsieur, we don't eat them here, even with English mustard

People walking dogs in nice weather. Dogs need to be walked, so it is a good thing, but who the f**k are you and where have you come from? Turns out they moved in just down from me 3 month ago. Is that a Bull Mastiff or an American Bulldog? " it's a rescue mate" Put it on lead please. You can't tell me what to do. And it just goes on, and on, and on.

Starlings being a bird that I used to dismiss but now appreciate their beauty. Once a staple for ferret food shot in the back garden, now a welcome point of interest and a little bit of sanity when taking the parents for ice cream at the seaside.

I have a Mini Cooper. People have said to me that it is woman's car... not bothered, class things to drive. People have said that it is a puff's car... not bothered, class things to drive. On the news last night Linekar was filmed driving away from the press in a Mini Cooper. For sale, Mini Cooper S, see Buy, Sell or Swap forum.

FA cup final today. Not a good game to watch other than the underdog being victorious. But, how bad does Guardiola look? Arms like pipe cleaners.

Always found Whitby to be a little quaint and borderline posh, haven't been there for 20+ years though. Love the beagle hunt badge/broach.

1) Hard graft coupled with common sense, 2) speculate to accumulate, 3) you get nowt for nowt so be aware. 2) & 3) involves c**ts trying to earn money from 1), hoping for lack of the common sense.

Bargain Hunt on the BBC. I like the programme but it always starts with "both teams have 1 hour and £300 with which to buy 3 items". Why do they say that? Both teams have £300 to buy 4 items, 1 of those being the experts' bonus buy. They have an hour to buy 3 of those items but we are never told how long the expert has to buy the final fourth item.

Very nice. Has a Border(ish) look. From the pictures anyway. In no way meant in a derogatory sense, all the workers are a some of their parts even if from decades ago, Borders gave us good heads and coats.

The last speed awareness course that I needed to do to keep my licence was during "lock down". Got clocked doing eighty mph on almost empty roads on A1M, visiting a construction site as many of us were not "stood down". Remote, online obviously so most of the other "accused" were in their own houses. Jesus Christ, people have no shame or self respect! It was like watching the sort of reality TV shows that I do not watch. Some of them got involved in "domestics" and forgot their camera and mic was still on. At times it was like only me, a chocolate coloured lab and 2 cock-a-poos were the ones p

AA S400 not cocking all the way back
eastcoast replied to Tomo2000's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
Should the "mods" move this into the air rifle section and the lad may get some advice? My advice, on limited experience, bolt action multi shot pneumatic air rifles, bolt operation performs 3 actions, revolving the magazine, chambering the pellet, and cocking the action. Some revolve the mag and chamber the round, but the rifle has not been fully cocked and able to fire if the bolt has not been pulled fully back. Then you end up with 2 chambered pellets when you work the bolt again. Done that. Or it might just be fecked. -
Once mooching about on a local farm with my air rifle. Would have been 14/15 year old. No permission but the tenant farmer was not too bothered and most stuff had been poached out years ago. The bordering farm was a little bit different and some lads did rent the shooting for the little that was there. Anyway, this day I spotted woodies feeding on the ground, just across the border and tried to stalk them. Not a tactic that had been successful in the past but this time it was different. Getting ever closer and closer, I had become a Ninja! Almost within shooting range and heart almost pounding

Guilty as charged... DOH!

From a "glass half full" perspective, if we had not been forced to sell Minteh, a player that we had scouted and nurtured (Anderson was a bigger blow for me being a local lad and Academy player), would Jacob Murphy have got much playing time this season? I think Minteh would have been 1st choice ahead of Murphy and Almiron before he was sold. Murphy has been outstanding and not many would have predicted that. A big player in getting the points that we have and the assist for winning goal in League Cup final. Serendipity? We'll never know. A win tomorrow would be most welcome

I wish I had never seen a badger, or more correctly once the UK badger became the most protected species of animal in the world.

Genuinely shocked and saddened. Have been entertained and educated by his writing for most of my life. R.I.P. Mr. Lloyd, and thank you.

I agree. Good for the area and I know some good people who were unfortunate to be born Sunderland fans, I'd be happy for them if they do it (they aren't expecting it though). I'll put all the horrible red n whites that I've met over the years out of my mind

Mixed feelings on Sunderland's game tonight. On the 1 hand have good friends and family members who are supporters and it would be nice for them to experience the joy of promotion, and a return of the Tyne/Wear derby's next season would be great. On the other hand it's Sunderland FFS! I should be supporting Coventry. Think I'll sit it out.

Re Newcastle, sure beats hoping for points in the final few games to avoid relegation. Happy days!

Gotta love evolution, from a virus to a jelly, then to a fish, then to a Tryannosaurus, then to a Humming bird. -
Started reading the topic from 1st post and convinced it was a Mercury, but as not marked Mercury, started to think it could be a rare BSA prototype, but reading later posts it is marked Well worth getting back into optimum working order. Powerful and more importantly accurate enough for rabbits and pigeons. A genuine part of great British gun making history. I preferred the fixed barrel Airsporter but the Mercury was a nice rifle. Even the Nikko Stirling scope is worth keeping as period accurate but the old 2 piece mounts used to suffer from "scope creep".
