  1. I'll scan it in. But I have a black and white pic of my great geabdads lurcher going over a 6ft gate without touching it
  2. OK not the lurcher, but doing some training with the terrier: I keep meaning to get a couple of action shots of the lurcher
  3. The election is a completely seperate issue. Some people may vote for a party because of a single issue or manifesto promise but I would imagine most cast a vote based on a wide range of issues Agreed, that was a slightly dumb statement
  4. Yeah, if nothing else, lads being part of the larger groups would allow them to be aware of the problems coming.
  5. I know punctuation isn't important here, but it might be worth just keeping the capitals, no offence intended Dear I would like to ask for your support in the repeal of the 2005 hunting with dogs act, as promised by David Cameron, your opinion or views on this matter would be gratefully received, I personally would like to see a repeal of this ban as soon as possible, In anticipation of your reply Yours sincerely,
  6. With this being a way of life for so many of you on here, how many got out and voted in the election?
  7. Should we not move control of what we do away from loons, and into the hands of BASC, The Countryside Alliance or similar, away from the domain of the public and into the hands of those involved. You might not agree with a lot of things, but to have a voice like that would be a good thing.
  8. A bit romantic, but the Daily Mail ran this article as well: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3083997/Confessions-England-s-poachers-Folk-heroes-common-thieves-view-shameless-magically-evocative-father-son-memoirs-irresistible.html
  9. I am in the same boat, just putting in for my FAC so can't take any risks. I do love working the dog though
  10. If I'd know there was a good chance of a repeal I would have got a bigger lurcher
  11. I wish I had the talent to build things that look that neat
  12. She has come out well KPS, looks like a cracker.
  13. I have been pessimistic, but I think cocker is going a good thing, I am going to write an email to my local MP, I hope this come out.
  14. Spot on mate The Waterloo Cup saw of coursing, the media showed it in a bad light every year without fail, and glorified the antis in attendance...most people are that weak minded they believe every bit of propaganda on the box, particularly if its on the good old BBC ...If TV hadn't raised the awareness of what was going on the average Joe would of neither known nor cared, for this reason alone I hope they don't try and lift the ban,as I said in an earlier post, they wont just say its not working and scrap it,there will be a full and open look at all things related....what will be frowned on nex
  15. Spot on, with the poster child they had in fox hunting they wouldn't have got anything through. I was reading that since the ban lurchers are more popular than ever?
  16. This will all end badly, mark my words, there are already some ridiculous dog laws coming in, I can't see things moving in a positive way. Would people be open for sensible reform? Most of the public haven't a clue, but the internet lets them shout as loud as they like.
  17. I know of a litter from workers, but they might be all sold.
  18. Very good that I think I would cram over burries like round my way.
  19. These are just wild fish? I ofteb peer over bridges and I bet 90% are under 14". I bet that was a hell of a scrap
  20. They are massive for browns, the ones I see are all under 1lb 8oz
  21. As a youngster i was out and about with various bushing jukels, some better than others,in attendance where a couple of old lads with their home made catapults. What i learnt from an early age is anything flushed out of cover was better covered by a gun or a lurcher. I have been debating getting a catty, it can fit in a pocket and will add a bit to woodland wander in the summer. But I had to remember the realities of my catapult hunting as a 10-12 year old, I think one roosting pigeon and a LOT of missed shots.
  22. I should have known what I was getting after reading what everyone said about salukis/saluki crosses. She is stubborn and awkward, I can't yell or nothing is achieved. I have had collies, Alsations, spaniels and labs, and the closest to this was an old mongrel thing I had. I have spent a lot of time building up trust, and she naturally brings things to me, so I am working on this. But does some excellent retrieves 4 or so times then sits and plays with it (9 months old and dummies). She listens, and chooses what she thinks should be done, but her recall, so far, is good. She ranges out a
  23. but if you put off road suspension on an F1 car................... You be bellied out on the smallest ruts?
  24. Ok it might get battered on here, but I was an air rifle nut as a teenager my way,I took a few bags of 50 autumn rabbits a few places, picking it all up again and taking a wander, none of the old places hold them, I have found a few new ones, and a farm that only ever held the odd one seems to have a smattering over a long distance now. But yes, large areas have just vanished since 2004.
