Nice ones those, cheers for the offer I have some I can borrow, but it is kind of under the assumption I can use them on his land mostly, I have found a couple on preloved etc but if they are as honest as most of the people selling pups I am going to tread carefully

Mine seemed to stop growing about 9 months, she has put a half inch on this last month (11 months). But has grown into herself a bit more.

You have answered my questions with that one, I have seen a few video's where dogs are just taking the back leg of the deer, but I was wondering if some dogs can end it quickly.

I might be cold, but a dog screaming would have been put down, I do understand, but I have to say it would be a battle with the Mrs., and not a nice experience, I had a lab with bone cancer who went the same, she was put down sharpish, but cancer is different.

Just a thought to do with my lurcher (sal/whip), I have wanted lurcher since I was a kid, it is only now I have the time and lifestyle for one, if I hadn't found this site I would have bought a whippet/small lurcher, caught a couple of rabbits and been as happy as pig in sh*t, it is only reading more into it I even considered different breedings. -
Hate it when people write salukie lol instead of the proper spelling saluki Nothing wrong with a hair coarsing salukie! Can your whippet x spaniels catch in the open? I would love to see some of them working. Did you use a cocker or springer? I think a spaniel brings more to the table than it takes away in my opinion. She's about as fast as an average rabbit mate, maybe a bit faster because she does seem to gain ground on a rabbit in the open if its a long enough run, but we never bred them to be catch dogs. Sire was only 19" 3/4 whippet 1/4 beddy, and dam is from a strain of small springers just bred for hard bushing by a mate, another dose of running blood and the pups would catch no problem imo. My

I keep hearing people say that mixi gets put down/moved and I think in 99% of cases it isn't true, and very few people are moving it. I reckon if you could get a now on the entire population of rabbits locally, plotted on a map where it has popped up you would see a pattern of it moving around.

I've got a 3/4 whippet 1/4 saluki here, she has taken a lot of the saluki, some of the litter are more whippety, I t21hink I have the smallest out of the litter, the rest are 21-24", mine is 20" TTS, I was hoping she would make 22-23 as the parents were this size. I like her, very quirky and I now think I get why people don't like saluki blood, you can get her to retrieve, but it is in no way like a spaniel/collie/lab etc, she wouldn't lower herself to that level of excitement Yell or be aggressive and you can forget it. I got her after debating a whip/grey, she is a lot heavier -
Is it legal to run dogs in Finland then? I have a good chance of trying this

I was over in Finland last year, they have hares everywhere too an it is surprisingly flat, I tried to google the law but couldn't find an answer. They all shoot/hunt over there with treeing dogs, they saw pics of mine and seemed very keen. I can't find any mention of lurchers being used in northern Europe/Scandinavia.

I freely admit I know next to nothing about lurchers. But I do think a gundog has a lot to offer a lurcher. Natural retrieving, nose, stamina, but probably sacrifice speed? A pointer/lab/spaniel etc.

Thats the stupidist thing Ive seen for a long time.. Its an insult to most peoples intelligence and will be seen for what it is..OVER DRAMATIC CRAP!!! I commented on that saying 'you do realise the hunt operates outside of the breeding season?' and was blocked within 60 seconds. It does show the personification of animals is behind the problems, bloody Disney films lol

I haven't had a reply from my MP. I know there is a lot od pressure to get it lifted. Though even the pro hunt people are worried about the terrorist style backlash if it repealed
