  1. Nice catch in the video. Was the beagle/lab a deliberate cross?
  2. Fair play, I must admit I am not out searching for a lab and a greyhound to mash together. But for lamping an obedient dog, with a natural retrieve and a soft mouth. It is a gundog in all but speed.
  3. I am new to lurchers. But I have kept gu dogs (spaniels and labs) as soon as I read up lurchers to me it seemed obvious that a gundog has a lot to offer.
  4. exactly what I was thinking when I hear of young rabbits being a bonus
  5. I had one similar at 11, she was epic, brilliant for what I did with the rats and rabbits, she worked well on mink and would work well round water, she could swim as fast as any dog I have seen randomly, nothing like seeing a dog snap something whilst swimming!
  6. Looks like a lovely pup, you'll have fun with her.
  7. I'dd imagine like pork! They would be very destructive to wildlife if they did become established. Might be nice for the hide or something.
  8. Has no one else bumped into one in the UK?
  9. Lovely pup that KPS I wouldn't mind one of those one day. It is looking very whippety already.
  10. Tell you what, just to be on the safe side I won't go meeting 14 year old boys off the internet I know where you are coming from, I have already had a few looks from certain people in my village (as well as some comments on how good the dogs look.
  11. OK mate sorry about the accusations. I have toyed with this idea and came to conclusion no. Some might. I really wanted a 1st cross whirrier but I wasn'twasn't going to fit the bill. The only advise I can give is there are mant different types of lucher. They all have their uses
  12. I didn't want to be racist!
  13. Good point, there have been a couple of terrier whippets bread recently, and there is usually a litter floating about on the for sale sites. It is just pot luck though unless you know the breeding
  14. I bet it'd be a shock if you entered the terriers and one of those came bolting out! I know of a few weird things living wild in the UK, I can only imagine the damage they could do to nesting birds here, they are well established in Northern Europe/Scandinavia and russia.
  15. Good point about the drive, have you considered putting yours over your whippets?
  16. I thought that head was a bit big, I still think a good staff or bull cross whippet makes a decent knock about dog, OK slow, but a handy enough dog for knocking about the farm.
  17. ow that is a nice looking dog. You'd be hard pushed to tell it from a bull whippet.
  18. Getting old, sounds standard practice on a hunting trip
  19. Could be fun, this is from 3 years ago but I just saw something saying that they are still about in the north of England? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/earth/wildlife/8404497/Raccoon-Bushy-tailed-bandits-ready-to-go-native.html Could be some fun bushing
  20. Fancy sharing (nicking) the pic over here? I do like this kind of dog.
  21. OK fair play, a mod might want to tidy this thread up when this is done Are you trying to use the photobucket app then? I had problems with it not showing up, you know how to copy the links from the share menu? Then paste them into the post you are writing?
  22. He (she?) makes me bit twitchy, I didn't want to say. But it did seem odd the name fairy? I can imagine if it is an anti fishing they are dull enough to come up with a name like that. I'll feel bad if it is someone trying, but I am also nervous of someone (without any guidance) from an urban area wanting to chase foxes with dogs will be the next pin up for the anti brigade.
  23. Just to point out I dondon'tdon't know many hunters would call themselves a fairy? If you are 14 I knuow from experience you'll be perfectly capable of using photo bucket or flickr. You will have facebook, twitter, instagram, snapchat.... you know how to share pictures
  24. Have you tried asking the neighbours if they wouldn't mind you having a wander on their land?
