Would love to spend my summers in the Western highlands or Western isles but feck living there all year round. The few times I’ve been to the South and South West of Ireland I’ve always thought I could live there. Farmland looked less intensively farmed a much as I’d imagine the UK would’ve looked maybe after the war and when my old fella was a lad.

Watching France v Australia on BBC and they’ve got P Neville, Drogba and some wee burd doing the punditry. Granted she’s easier on the eye than Lawro or Fanny Murphy, but is she really qualified to give expert analysis on what is the pinnacle of international football? Surely to fcuk this isn’t what equal opportunity is about!!

It was on the BBC news this morning. The best way to deal with all this nonsense, if you don’t agree with it, is to just ignore it. The problem with the huge amount of almost suffocating media we have today, is that it gives a voice and a platform to all the looneys of the day.., no matter how small a minority they belong to. It’s all just bullshit and reacting to it only gives them more airtime.

If you want to quit bad enough then you will. Try calculating what you’ll spend on snout between now and when you’ll retire.., or maybe when your daughter turns 21, and imagine what else you & the fam could do with that cash. I stopped in 2001 and reckon I’ve saved myself somwhere between £50-100k..., add to that my missus stopped at the same time and we’ve easily ‘saved’ over £100k. Sadly I haven’t got it sat in the bank, but it’s in the roof over our head, and the memories from all the things we’ve been able to afford because we stopped. In a time when honours are handed out for seemingly very little, I think King Kenny’s knighthood is well deserved. He comes across as a very humble and down to earth guy. Apart from the fact that (for me at least) in his pomp he was one of the world’s best players, his cancer charity work, and the way he apparently went above and beyond his club duties in the aftermath of Hillsborough, I think the knighthood is maybe long overdue. Football could certainly do with a few more like him..., especially the Scottish national team ?

At 19’10 Fury looks like he could still shed two stone..., a lot of the media stuff suggested he was in better shape than this. He’s been out a long time so wants a ‘warm up’ fight but he’ll need to get in with a decent opponent soon to regain any credibility.

Although this is probably the lowest key build up to an England team entering a world cup, I see that arrogance and delusion are still alive and well in at least some of the support ? ”Lowly village team”..., like Costa Rica..., a small country maybe, but that are ranked by Fifa 23rd in the world to England’s 12th. And aren’t they the same lowly village team that England couldn’t beat in 2014..., who finished top of the group England finished bottom in??? I like Whyte v Parker but PPV is taking the piss. Fury looks in great shape and hopefully there’s no slip up Saturday. Fighting the winner of Whyte v Parker would be a good test and put him right in the mixer for AJ or whoever has the belts next year.

Oil industry is full of HSE advisors that have never been on a real job before. Seems that for every man that’s trying to do a job, there’s someone, who knows fcuk all about it, trying to put a stop to it. Be the ruination of British industry if we don’t get a grip of it and keep competitive with the rest of the world IMO.

Genuinely glad to see Fury getting himself in shape and back in the mixer. For me though, one ‘warm up’ fight, then in with ranked opposition. No doubt Fury has ability, and he’s done enough mouthing about being the best and the lineal champ, so time to get in and prove it now. Hopefully the likes of Warren and the team Fury now has round him can steer him away from all the social media rubbish, which I think has seriously damaged his popularity and credibility..., or at least help him to manage it better. The big guy deserves to leave a legacy in the sport and hopefully now, win, lose o
