depends on how bad it is, i will be controversial here and say water,fitness and common sense are better than any electrolyte thats currently available

just about sums it up but other factors other than fitness and hot weather have an influence. admittedly they can all be interlinked but are not mutually exclusive, in reality apart from iv fluids and pain relief ( that are needed) what can a vet do to stop nature taking its course as far as rhabdomyolysis goes.

as i said on the other post adding more for the kidneys to process will make matters worse just keep it hydrated and comfortable in the worse case it will suffer rhabdomyolysis and loose its back muscles over the next 72 hrs or best case it will just be sore for a while.

it will only make matters worse if the dog has recently suffered a bout. initial treatment is to keep it hydrated and limit the pain.

i assume dogs followed mans progression originally used for hunting them moving to herding and stock protection then when times changed again sport and meat.
