  1. My last 2 would work cover as good as any spaniel, They soon learn to read a quarry and how to deal with them in certain places, If they don't see or smell it then you will walk right past it if there on the slip lead, Even when you add terriers and spaniels into it, you can stand outside a big piece of cover with the dogs on there slips but its pot luck as to where the quarry will pop out,
  2. If anybody wants more info then message the bloke.
  3. Horses for courses springs to mind, If every terrier breed worked the same then there would only be a need for one,
  4. Hunts only use terriers for game bird protection when asked to by shoots, anything else would be against the law, Unless there is a commercial or diy shoot on his land then again it will be against the law. but its just the way it is.
  5. Have admit i have seen one, Absolute horrible cnut with anything on four legs but could do the job that's for sure.
  6. There are no terriers in hunt service anymore, A terrier can only be used for game bird protection,
  7. Hunt service? Appears that you are dodgier Than socks, underpants,
  8. Nothing here in in the Midlands, Just wind and rain.
  9. Yep its a Shark. It was that or a new Microwave Lol
  10. Air gunners quoting pest control in the middle of summer. grips my shit mate, Round here they are as rare as hens teeth at the minute, yet people are still after what little are left.
  11. I am now having second thoughts on the wife's upcoming Birthday present, I spotted a few bits left on the living room floor after she had hovered, So i have got her a new Hover, What do you think?
  12. Its defiantly a wet and windy but rather mild winter, Christmas day was the warmest recorded since 1920, Round here the water table never really dropped through last summer, Our grass never even went brown, The fields are just bogs and go anywhere near a river and its just impossible to get anywhere,
  13. Sounds like my sort of places, Remember Gaz1989 on here, he asked me about getting a Munty so i sent him off to a place down the M1, He said he parked up, opened the boot, dog jumped out, went into the hedge and caught one, That would never happen around here but that's the game Lol.
  14. A long time ago now, hairy, useless f***ing ugly b*****d piece of shit.
  15. Shouldn't take long mate. a good while ago i had someone from around there try to rip me off on terrier locator i sold on ebay. within a few days he had a change of heart and decided the item had actually been delivered but his girlfriend had forgotten to tell him.
  16. When the .17hmr came out here. There were problems with the neck of the case splitting. This round was formed from a ,22wmr case, Are there the same issues with the .17 centrefire as well.
  17. i had 2 of them mate. feel your pain Lol.
  18. All sorts mate but mainly accipiter's, Goss hawks and sparrow Hawks. Although i did try a few few falcons, Peregrine and a pere/saker but for me none could beat the sparrow hawk, Spent 2 seasons trying to take a snipe on the rise, first with a little Musket then with a smallish female, Never did manage it but had fun trying Lol
  19. We might be old school mate, but its all about the chase not the ultimate outcome, it was the same same when i flew birds of prey, My goal was to get the bird as fit as, or as near to as i could to a wild bird and test it against its quarry. The flight was what it was all about, not really the catch.
  20. i spent years chasing Munty`s around here mate, Loads of rips. tears. punctured eyes and a whole load of heart ache and grief, wouldn't have changed it for the world Lol
  21. I have done the numbers game mate and to be fair, i found it just to easy, I once travelled south to run some Chinese water deer, Jesus h Christ the first ones we spotted were in the middle of a field, the size i could not even guess at. it was huge. And then they stood looking at the dog approaching and not not even moving until it was virtually upon them, Again not for me Lol.
  22. This is going to sound daft but the best dog for them was a mixture of something that is quick enough to get on them and the determination and courage to throw on a turn and crash cover at the end of a run. Only ever achieved it with one dog. An exceptional night here would be 4 or more rabbits.
  23. After an hour and a half's, Head banging, Mind Numbing reflection, Buying the Grandkids a Drum kit possibly was not one of my best ideas. Lol
  24. Around here its all small pasture fields 1 to 3 acres on average, Mini golf courses i call them, The rabbits are quick and i mean quick. A bloke and his lad came up from the south Wales area with a bitch that was doing good, apparently. No disrespect to the bloke and his lad but the rabbits here just made it look far less than good, but its as they say, Horses for courses, You breed to the land you run.
