Shhhhhhhhh ! Twat ! My van is behind the camera

Something was said to me , in a passing conversation, on here the other day and it has, had me thinking since. One of the lads said to me, - "Mark I would never buy a spring rifle for hunting, the only place I would use a spring rifle is down at my range". Now I use both PCP and Spring Rifles for hunting but I do wonder what others thoughts are on this, as the original question that brought this up was " shot count" out in the barns, etc, ratting. When I`m decoying Wood Pigeons in the Summer months, I find the

Aye up BN . Mounts on a non recoiling gun don`t have to be "all conquering "- Sports Match are perfect, one piece or singles, - whichever floats ya boat. Scope wise I bought Sean`s ( Vizlauk`s) previous Mamba 4-16 x 50 off him for my HW 100 KT .177. Big, heavy scope, that I was advised to get from a very prominent air gun hunter, for the 100. I haven`t looked back on that decision I can tell you, what a combination they make atb Mark.

New gun, almost there................
mark williams replied to philpot's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Night shooting on rats, I would definitely go HW 100 KT. OR KS .177 ( trajectory, very tight shots). Should a refill be required,- so what ? Is a pcp your final option Phil ? No spring rifle in mind at all ? Good luck with your choices -
He`s far from "just a kid" Rezmond,- anyway - have you seen the time ! Get to bed, " Boyyyyy" ! x

Are you going FAC Air only Mitch ? Or are you going to powder burners also ? Either way, good luck/ fun with FAC

What`s with all the Rat Works logo on the wall behind the guns ? Has our Phil got his eye on them I wonder Looks like a p900 dressed in a home made Daystate stock, then scribbled on by their 4 yr old daughter. " Yak" !

Nice shooting Matt. What`s the calibre mate ?

Using FAP in the HW100 KS .22 and my FWB 127 MK1 .22. I`m using the JSB Exact Express .177 throgh the T Rex, the Pro Sport and the FWB 124. I`ve still not tried the Express through my 100 KT as yet. A great nudge that was a couple of years back Mitch

That brace you were looking for Jimmy Hope I don`t make a Lemon of myself here but the receiver from an every day gate bolt / door bolt ? They come in all shapes and sizes don`t they ? Just a thought mate. Compliments to you Jimmy, you have resurrected that rifle atb Mark -
Do you know I always got that opinion of her

No complaints from me Mitch, Whether you use a bipod, sticks, fence post or your knee, who cares ? I do prefer a spring rifle though, to shoot, without bridging shooting skills with pcp`s, whenever possible. Not sure if you`ve noticed but I don`t shoot quarry at night or off feeding trays either. 21st century night vision ,pcp`s, bait stations, nahhh Only saying like x

The T Rex won`t be getting any substitute spots Jimmy, they are far to good for that. Yes the Pro Sport is fast to the shoulder mate and quick on point. Got my HW 100 KT back this morning so she might get a run out next. atb Mark.

Couldn`t help but pick up on them both openly saying how unreliable a pcp is compared to a spring rifle, even after all these years. I should know as my KT is in for a leak. Couldn`t believe Lloyd said that the Compatto is shit - I loved that bit. Anyway I now know why Lloyd wears a bob hat - that fecking haircut

Yes mate, I felt that cold today aswell . Nice shooting Mitch, compliments.

I do too Matt . Once you`ve learned their shot cycle they are pcp accurate. The first hunting shot of this rifle was a Magpie, Matt. It was a good 38 yds away and at around 70 ft up, I`d already test shot the tree branches, as I always do and the cross hair was pinpoint. Anyway just as I took the built up shot a gusty breeze drew the branches down the instant I squeezed off and in the follow through I saw that Magpie get such a parting dead centre of it`s bonce ,i`ve decided to call my Pro Sport - " Maggi

Best Zero Range For Both .177 And .22
mark williams replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Yep, good call Pledgey . I like to simulate whatever I`m after too. When static hunting, I`ll laze the distances I`ll be shooting, go away and practice " range specific". Very effective shooting. Sorry about the pigeon head lads -
Well I got out for a few hours today lads with the newly zeroed Pro Sport. I put a hide up by a tree that I know gets pigeons dropping in and waited. Just 5 minutes in and a Magpie was sat in the highest branches, the strong wind had him bouncing and riding, leaving him with a reversed Mohican feather cut to the top of his head and me with a " just missed". So we waited and waited and waited when I noticed the tiniest flicker, - tells me my concealment is good A hawk just 28 yds off.

Best Zero Range For Both .177 And .22
mark williams replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
You have to Google everything Phil. Not sure about other members but the search engine on here used to be excellent but nowadays it`s awful (for me). Hope it helps. -
Compliments lads I`m trying to get out tomorrow, with the Pro Sport.

AA Pro Sport .177 V TX 200 HC MK 3 .177 .
mark williams replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Do you have a preference between them Jeff and if so, why mate ? -
Not sure if you are aware Jimmy, We are in the Sub 12 ft/lb air rifle forum not the pea shooter section, " If there is one"

The brand new, shiny, Pro Sport`s initial zero.
mark williams replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Hi Phil, Take a look at " Best zero for .177 and .22" I posted a few years back, all the info` is there . Basically, 9.7 yds to 38.3 yds your pellet is within a one inch kill zone and this zero will give you a bulls eye at 16 yds and 35 yds. atb Mark -
Hi Raptar, I shoot lightweight in both .177 ( JSB Exact Express) and .22 ( Falcon Accuracy Plus) in all my rifles, all giving me fine accuracy. Accuracy will " ALWAYS" trump power. A .177 or .22 to the vitals of any air gun quarry is every bit as good as a .303 bullet etc, etc, - a shot to the head, " It`s dead" !
