  1. The Pro Sport is next for me, then all the others. No rush lads, as and when you please. A lot of fellow air gun hunters, target shooters having a lot of fun with this. The piss taking can get hilarious
  2. A £1,000 buys a HW 100 of any format ( pretend bull pup ) and a decent scope. I know where my grand would be heading.
  3. Nice shooting Mitch, what happened to the soil stack feeders You can tell you are south, your ground and plant shoots is way ahead of around here. Anyways, shooting mate.
  4. I tend to reach for my spring rifles as much as possible because I " thoroughly enjoy" using them but I will never let go of the PCP`s as Rabid says, they are always needed for certain jobs.
  5. Any sub 12 air rifle can partake, any calibre, anyone,- it`s fun Shoot inside or out, bench rested, bipod, sticks free handed, anything goes. 25 Yards is the normal challenge with a 5p size target for .177 25 yards is the normal challenge with a 1p size target for .22 IF you are an experienced shooter - try the same rules but at 38 yds for .177 and .22 Here`s my first attempt with the HW 100 KT .177 but suffered a flyer So 23 strikes/ 24 a
  6. Clack ! clack! clack! clack! clack! clack! clack! clack! and a fecking CLACK! CLACK! No, not anymore, they were accurate (a Benjamin and a Sheridan blue streak) but nothing stayed around long enough to shoot
  7. Just been adding another coat or two of Walnut oil, to the HW 100 KS .22, early stages I know and looking excellent but take a butchers at the Pro Sport Walnut as well. They are all better looking in natural light as opposed to the flash of my camera but gives an idea of what`s coming, I think. HW 100 KS .22 Pro Sport .177 Oooooh those Pro Sport Walnut stocks
  8. Slow down Jimmy. Yes I do feel the Pro Sport, out of the box and on first firing was a touch better in accuracy, than the TX was. ( or was that me ? ) Saying that, the T Rex was on it`s way to Rat Works for the " Full Monty" in no time and came back with a 3 ft/sec spread and hitting 11.52 ft/lbs. The T Rex has proven time and time again just what an incredible spring rifle they are and as Sean says, " only time will tell" for the Pro Sport. Here`s the T Rex straight after the Rat Works stage 4 tune.
  9. I`m expecting around 10.5 to 10.8 ft/lbs Sean with the Exact Express. Even as soon as now, she is just a nudge in my shoulder as standard, a .177 pellet stays on the scope turret when fired, with ease, - better than the TX out of the box for sure. I`m certainly not going to be chasing 1/2 a ft/lb extra mate - not with the accuracy being shown already , no way. The Woody I shot the other day with the Sport was instant despatch with perfect accuracy, so I agree mate, if nothing changes I am more than happy.
  10. Your suggestions Mitch in everything but the KT and with very good results mate.
  11. Will you be shooting your Sport - untouched Sean ? Have you chronograph`d it yet ?
  12. Yes Si, although I was told, "or if you prefer to use a lint free cloth", which I have. Since putting this particular post up, she has had two more fine coats. Gorgeous looking stock now, gets better with every coat. I was told 12 fine coats normally gives an outstanding finish ? Bet Jimmy will be along soon
  13. Rez / lads, Parker Hale Walnut Oil, 50 ml bottle, more than enough to do two rifles. Description says, Parker Hale walnut oil is a light, natural oil, to enhance the grain on top quality gun stocks. This highly refined Walnut oil quickly dries to a hard clear finish.
  14. I totally agree with your thoughts on this Matt and have picked up on this reversal from many airgun lads. As an example - I own 6 air rifles, 4 are spring rifles, 2 are classics, 2 modern and 2 are PCP. Today I picked up my 1978 springer before the PCP`s and what care free fun I had, even in that weather . Can`t see myself buying any more PCP`s mate. atb Mark.
  15. Her stock is coming to now lads. Her 6th very light coat of Walnut oil.
  16. Just cold and mild snow around here, so no reason to hide indoors. Any way if I lived in Devon and Dorset areas, I`d still be out, Soft gits
  17. Well I went out in this weather, this morning lads, wanting a true challenge and got two. First intentions was Kaiser`s training as I`ve been training him solidly for 18 months or so to mark regularly used rabbit runs for me as it shows me exactly what`s going on with the warrens. So with the snow, prints and rabbit/ fox movements he was getting treats as he was marking/ pointing, exactly right every time. Here`s a well used run he has pointed on and well petted and treated for. So I went to inspe
  18. You drinking again ? Leave you to it . Work in the morning. G`night.
  19. Not obvious at all Rez, my mates gun shop, RFD, is reporting a steady increase in spring rifle sales compared to PCP. Simply asking the forum lads their thoughts thank you.
  20. I have put a very similar scenario post up Sean under the heading Air rifle hunting, PCP Vs Spring Rifles,- wonder if you get the same sort of answer I`m receiving ? Mate, I feel the same to be honest, I feel like I`m cheating at shooting at times with pcp. As you know I have just ploughed my money into a Pro Sport also, because I want the challenge of shooting a real quality air rifle, a sub 12 air rifle at that. I do get asked to do pest control and a pcp is the tool for t
  21. No need to answer like that Rez, I am asking peoples thoughts on this matter with a please involved ?
  22. " Correct" as well as shooting sticks, fence posts, bipods or knees, etc, the list goes on and on. Saying that though, the static hunting lads want as much weight/ stability as they can get. As well as some of the walk about hunters. Each to their own.
  23. Not sure what your answer means .... but thank you anyway x
