  1. Hi Jimmy, Not sure if this helps you any but might wet your appetite a little with the F.A.P pellets ? Credit where its due, Mitch also put me onto the FAP .22,13.43 g , 5.52. and the JSB Exact Express 4.52, 7.87g ,which as you know, I use exclusively ,all the time. Well mate, here's the FAPS .22 cal through the HW 100 KS at 38 yds and at a dead 50 yards finalising her calibration. All under a 5p coin " ish " an at sub 12 in the 100 performed 629 ft/sec - 11.8 ft/lbs - yes I watch her power like a
  2. Had to get out for an hour lads, work has been silly with all this rain.( roofer). Sat waiting for a squirrel, or two , on the tree lines when this wood pigeon came into the sowings first. The zero on this SFS tuned 1986 77 is pinpoint. Lazed 43 yards. atb. Mark.
  3. In Terryd, he's very family orientated but not allowed on any chairs or upstairs. He won't let me out of his sight and sits by me all the time, at bed time he goes to his bed by the lounge window - he`s a good watch dog and misses nothing.
  4. Hi BH, I just love the GSP, German Short Hair. Airgun hunting ( static), Shotgun hunting and static, trapping , walked up, retrieves everything to hand, they are superb gun dogs and very good watch dogs too. Flushes a woodcock here after the command " go on ". On point for a rabbit. Static air gun, all retrieved to hand. GSP are great all round hunting dogs. Good luck.
  5. PCP or spring rifle the Primos sticks are a must for static or walking. The double yokel really holds your aim well and is a " massive" help toward extremely accurate shooting.
  6. Go for the Primos sticks John, Jim Shokey generation 2 is what I`m using for all my static hunting for years now but a generation 3 is available of which I,ve not yet used. Swap the single Y yokel for a double yokel rifle rest, a devastating bit of kit to own mate .
  7. Top shooting as per John, compliments, . Using a " proper gun too ' atb Mark.
  8. I picked up a mk2 HW77 .177 cal rifle from these forums that carries a stage 2 SFS tune. It is way better than a standard 77 in my humble opinion and I would`nt dream of selling her. There is`nt a 20 week wait for a SFS tuned rifle for nothing, is there ?
  9. I love this time of year for sub 12 air rifle hunting. A little vigilance and that little bit more movement can be seen in the woodland canopy and undergrowth. All that training, practice on target work pays you back. The headshot is the usual presentation this time of year. The HW 100 KT .177 is in use this time out. atb. Mark.
  10. What's up with yer Rezmond, it did you a world of good when you came down to my house for yer shooting lessons, - did it not ? I got you hitting the barn door in under a week,- true ? By the 6th week of your school holiday you were managing a fence panel and now I hear all your shots are staying within your outside bog door. Do, do your breathing exercises though Rez, remember ? Good luck x
  11. Not sure if you have tried this C3PO but with no grip whatsoever on the fore end of the gun and rather a rest or flat palm allowing the gun to cycle the same way time and time again really tightens my rifles groups up. I concentrate on the building of the shot, breathing and follow through on top of the recurring shot cycle, ( hope I'm not asking anyone to suck eggs here ) but what a difference to my grouping. Sorry about my drawing atb. Mark.
  12. I have this rifle in .177 cal` carrying a Mamba scope. She's one of the best rifles I have ever owned for both power and accuracy. Good luck C3PO, you've made a fine choice atb. Mark
  13. Nice shooting Jeff, , have you not got a picture or two ? atb. Mark
  14. I might be wrong but I think a lot of lads are still , not quite clear on the General License laws yet and not posting ?
  15. This large buzzard was circling my decoy pattern and actually struck one of the decoys. It jumped back, startled it was plastic and simply flew away.
  16. Nice looking land John . Top shooting, as per mate. atb. Mark.
  17. I did`nt forget. Compliments lads atb. Mark.
  18. Absolutely Jimmy and " hats off to you mate" - the shots I`m managing to pull off with the 97`s can be quite a learning curve. Put the practice in lads, 97`s take a hell of a lot of bettering , I must say ! Easily on par with PCP`s if not better.
  19. Had another session on the rabbits as last week but with my 97 rather than the HW 100. Yes the spring rifles test you much more than a puffer but what a feeling taking another 53 yard rabbit with such accuracy that the 97 offers. Here's the lane I was shooting over. Here's Kaiser`s retrieve. The 97`s shot placement at a lazed 53 yards. Instant despatch. atb Mark.
  20. German Short Haired Pointers are incredible gun dogs, mine retrieves, points, hunts and will easily sit at my side all day in a hide He works to both shotgun and air rifle.
  21. I`m not sure if you remember Mitch but I did try them. They proved to be extremely accurate indeed. I`ll no doubt move over onto them when the AA Fields run out. If anyone is interested here are those results. AA Fields, 4.52, 8.4 g, 794 ft/sec, 11.79 ft/lbs - superb accuracy/ hard hitting. JSB Exact Express 4.52, 7.87g, 815.6 ft/sec , 11.63 ft/lbs - also extremely accurate and hard hitting. One click right and she's spot on for 38 yards.
  22. Little Johnny in his maths lesson and the teacher says " Johnny I can see you have 5 sweets in your hand , if I was to ask you to give young Abdul one of your sweets, how many would you have left " ? Johnny replied, " F%cking five miss" !
