  1. Not the damage I`ve been watching Mitch, by any means. Correct shot placement is fine but again, any of you lads hunting with the JSB Heavies 10.34 g please and your thoughts sub 12 ?
  2. Yep, with you there Mitch light or heavy weight pellet placed correctly but the damage got my attention mate from a standard sub 12. A 10.34 g won't get my attention trajectory wise but the damage caused really caught my eye and mind. Just thought I`d put it out there lads.
  3. Not in any way a caliber question lads but rather a pellet weight question. I`ve shot exclusively with the light weight JSB Exact Express 4.52, 7.87 g pellets for nearly 4 years now and can't see me changing much after the successful trips I,ve had. My question is - do any of you lads hunt with the JSB Heavies 10.34 g in .177 cal ? I was watching a Vermin Hunters t.v. video recently and I was very impressed with the wallop/ tissue damage these particular pellets gave from sub/12 rifles at a shorter 25/ 30 yds on squirrel.
  4. To be 14 yrs old again . If you are an average size of lad of 14 I would lean towards a HW 95 Luxus in the caliber of " your choice" - mine would definitely be .177 caliber. Go and shoulder some rifles at your local Gun Shop first Daniel and see which rifles fit you best - ( very important) Watch out for a big fella that likes his burgers too , knows his stuff but not his burgers. Good luck buddy.
  5. As above, which rifle and caliber are you using before looking at the pellets used ?
  6. I can hear what Mitch is saying but compliments Jimmy some really lovely work there mate.
  7. Absolutely delicious way of cooking grey squirrel is to fry it. My middle son gives some to his girlfriend and she loved it.
  8. Three years on and still a great post I have a 1976 MK1 FWB Sport 124 fitted with a V- Mach engine by ARC Tuning, Lyn Lewis and it has utterly transformed that old rifle into one very accurate/ powerful hunting classic.( better than todays rifles- no ! ) The purists will scream " sacrilege" as said , I don't care either .( Nostalgia lads ) My Sport is now freakin` lethal to small game.( Now as good as todays rifles ) I asked Lyn Lewis his thoughts on the differences between the old HW35E and the new HW35 and he said basi
  9. Well all the very best lads and a happy new year. 2020 should see me back on the scene again after taking a part time shooting break this last 6 months. All the best Mark & Kaiser.
  10. Well, I have two shot guns, both 12 bore and they are virtually redundant and as for F.A.C. I have never really felt the need to use one, air or powder, just not my scene. Sub 12 air rifles have long been my preferred style of hunting. I just adore the challenge of getting close, real close, bringing the rifle up when the quarry looks in a different direction, stopping the rifle mount should the quarry look at your position, silent, still and deadly patient waiting for the shot to present itself, all the years of practice/ training kicks in big s
  11. All the very best lads and family's. Phil, have you checked out the adjustable tables and beds at the old folks home yet ? Only asking` like. xx
  12. I never thought for one minute that you might think like that towards the PM`s partner as a shag or dick friend, " courting" is a little more refined, I`d have thought, you should be ashamed of yourself, you commoner. You had such a nice persona when you came over for your many, many shooting lessons. As much as we tried he's still can`t shoot for shi
  13. Oops, a senior moment I think Phil, . Yeah I was reading about some top anti MP`s losing out with the latest election and being replaced by some very pro hunting MP`s. Well a lot of positive thoughts were being put forward until one statement came out about Boris`s girlfriend/ partner being very anti hunting and suggested it might influence Boris some what, especially as she is 20 years his junior Gossip , you know what the news is like.
  14. Just been reading an article that says our PM who is 50 odd years old, is courting an anti who is 30 odd years old.
  15. Each to their own Mitch Merry Christmas by the way.
  16. Come on you two the standards are dropping Nice shooting yer pair of twats. atb. Mark.
  17. Maybe that is the way to describe a V-Mach engine room, different and a very quick shot cycle to say the least. After half an hour of constant practice my groups came down to 5p sizes at 38 yards and then you start to understand and master the rifles new characteristics. Don't forget , the FWB is just 7lbs in weight and then a V-Mach engine is put in her I also tried a light weight 7.87 g JSB Express pellet sat on the telescopic sight turret through the firing cycle, - it hardly even nudged never mind move , incredible.
  18. Not the best of cameras, I know but how pretty and welcome to anyones garden.
  19. Here's the man you need for classic V-Mach work Bryan. Lyn worked with Steve for years and carries out a lot of V-Mach work. March 2019, Lyn put a V-Mach engine into my MK1 FWB Sport 124 ( .177 )- boy did that come back a different beast ! Lyn Lewington, Arc Tuning, 51 Firs RD, Caldicot, Monmouthshire, NP264DR, 07974230549. Good Luck
  20. Great shooting Robo I`m on the look out for an older HW80 .177 myself. atb. Mark.
