  1. All good sense, but don’t forget you can keep pigs behind two strands of electric and nothing more, they only escape when looking for food or breeding, just don’t get any boars and your laughing. whater, you need an ibc, a few sheets of tin to collect rainwater..... ‘’god your so lucky getting that, it’s an adventure and a damn good one at that. Well done and enjoy it.
  2. Dropped you a text mate. you need a little bit of everything ? i would be looking at the following Bees chickens, Ducks, geese, turkeys sheep goats a few cattle, you have enough room just don’t go mad, maybe get smaller beasts like dexter or those mini belted galoways. pigs -they are an absolute must and would be top of my list, especially looking at how much clearing you have to do. ponds poly tunnel veg patch orchard if your minded to do so then fruit bushes/trees brought on for sale is very rewarding both financ
  3. Get some light Sussex Cream legbar orpingtons or leghorns marans rhode island reds (they can be Arsey things) and then your Typical brown hen, that will give you a multitude of coloured eggs be careful of some of the proper breeds as they won’t lay as many eggs as your hybrid types, but they do give a lovely mix of eggs, blue, white, dark brown, light brown, speckled..... Edited to add, just seen your other thread, you need some pigs, give me a shout and I will sort you out, got about 200 up here you can choose from, all different breeds a
  4. I keep a good few birds, all mine are in side poultry net electric, and go inside field shelters at night that I’ve put doors on and built roll away nest boxes inside. ive got a mixed flock, different breeds, some folk like the small bantam size eggs, some like the double yolkers, but when you see the eggs in a box all mixed colours they do look good. i also have some ex batts, I love them, but they can be unreliable layers, and pretty stupid as well, they are the ones who always go over the fence and get taken by foxes, they take no time at all to acclimatise from the cage, a
  5. Looks lovely, apart from the Stella, looks watered down
  6. Are you for real ? Your gob has just done more damage than a dozen rifles.
  7. I had same convo with my isuzu dealer as he wanted to fit them on my new truck, I said no cos the old at2’s I had wore out too fast for my liking, he reckons they have used a harder compound on the 3 and they are much longer lasting now.
  8. Anyone fish this area ? Am looking to head up for a week or two in December, and if the weather looks ok then I will be taking the boat up with me. just wondered if anyone from here is in the area or have fished that way before.
  9. If you ain’t on Facebook then what’s the point in following up on a fb group you would like to be involved with ? for anyone half interested he has put a link up to his group.
  10. Where you from, I have one I’m considering letting go but only interested in f2f
  11. Yep, I would be having that ground dug one way or another, and be pronto about it as well.
  12. And that’s the exact dilemma I’m in right now.
  13. Has anyone got one, looked through one, heard anything about them, a lot of money, but was interested to hear if they are worth it.
  14. I was dead against them for years, until the penny dropped it’s not the collar but how you use it, it’s not a sadistic tool, and with the right mindset they do work, I turned one dog around that I took on which was going to get a bullet after the 3rd ‘’expert’’ couldn’t sort out, he is now a joy to work with and have around, you as the owner need to have the right mindset with how to use one and they are great tools.
  15. Try a ford ranger, they supposedly only need servicing every 20 000 miles !!!!!
  16. Don’t be so sure, surfs well up and the bass are about, who minds getting wet .......
  17. A fella once mentioned, if you like your job you will never do a days work in your life, and guess I’m lucky as I love my job. still enjoy fishing more though ?
  18. I’ve looked through quite a few and used several in anger and I don’t think the pulsar can be beaten just yet, (even against some that are double the price of the pulsar) I use the xq38 spotter and the trail xq50 scope nv I use the n870lrf Really want to get my hands on the thermion and see how that compares out in the field.
  19. They are bloody good, I use both thermal and nv, often spotting with thermal and taking the shot with nv, both have pro’s and cons, but don’t be fooled into thinking thermal are foolproof in every weather mate, I’ve had them white out before when I’ve been out on the pigs, too much moisture in the air and they can be next to useless.
  20. Well I followed your lead and tried a spot of spinning just up from port Isaac this morning, fished 2 hrs upto top of tide and just over, had one good take but lost it instantly, other than that not a touch, I did come across a field full of mushrooms so breakfast was perfect when I got in.
  21. Couldn’t have chosen a worse hobby living slap bang centre of the island could I !!!
  22. Cracking looking spot, you guys are blessed with your coastline, Shame you didn’t hook up but what a way to spend a few hours, fish or not.
  23. You have more faith in common sense been applied than me, would like to see it happen but not holding my breath. yeah it’s just my luck the boat has been gathering cobwebs all through the summer and now I’ve got a week free it’s blowing a hoolie. Should be able to find some shelter in the creeks on the east, but unless I can see a couple of good days it’s hardly worth the tow down, so could end up doing some spinning from the shore. either way I don’t mind, a week off work relaxing on the coast, a bit of wind and rain won’t dampen my spirit.
  24. Agree we have some awesome skippers, hopefully most of the bad ones have gone but sure some still in business as FL pointed out. the fly in your ointment is were not allowed to target them and certainly no quota for the uk, if that changed it could indeed be a very good business., plenty of boats been going out west from Ireland for many years now. i am down near padstow next week but looks like all hopes of getting my boat out are scuppered by the wind.
  25. Let’s not forget this is only what we read in the press, I bet my bottom dollar a lot more to it on Both sides than we get to see in that report. for a start, it couldn’t have been a very big hedge if that dog could clear it, ie, not above 6ft high, so all reasoning says you should be able to see someone the other side........, I would be concerned standing one side of a hedge and some one shooting into/at/along the said hedge the other side unles they knew damn well where I was standing
