  1. Kin ell, that's £325 a ton, go see a local farmer, even the organic wheat is only £250 a ton.
  2. I agree 100% with all the above, but would like to add, thermal isn't the dogs dangles all the time, certain weather puts pay to it very quickly, if there is a lot of fog/ wet in the air it's totally blind
  3. I quite like it, much better looking than the Galahad, and it's a tried and tested design, always had a soft spot for the ultra, I've got one that has surpassed all expectations. still need to know a price on it.
  4. I'm not wearing a flower in my buttonhole for no one ???? I will have you know I've a very delicate buttonhole and it's staying that way ? Rich, mark, you coming on Sunday ? flowers will be cheaper in bulk ??
  5. Dunno, if I do go it will be most likely on sunday
  6. So he's buying you breakfast as well now, I dunno, first mention of your forskin and every one goes ga ga, what day you thinking of going ?
  7. You bet your backside I enjoyed it, I have a lot of love for working ferrets, and generally been out amongst it all, mark is a pleasure to be around, nice lad who isn't afraid to get stuck in, and he learns quick, so yeah, it was a pleasure, and a few unexpected bunnies to boot.
  8. You be surprised how many are in town
  9. Getting up early ain't my problem, getting up early to bustle round a show rammed with people, rather be down the field with the dog.
  10. I would be making sure I fed it a lead tablet, but you know my take on them anyways. The problem is, given food, urban foxes are becoming more bold, they loose inhibitions like thier rural counterparts, increased population, and increase in urnban foxes, expect to see more reports like this.
  11. Don't blame you, most trips are getting blown off at the moment some very good boats in your neck o the woods, or if you are happy waiting till summer my boat should fingers crossed be back on the mooring for then and your welcome to come out. Yes, that's the one, Neil and Mick French, excellent skipper who knows his stuff, won't get him at the mo as he is on hols, picked a good time to go with all this wind.
  12. Personally I would go with carbine over full length, I sold my sporter in favour of the kt, and whilst some cannot get on with thumbhole, it suits me just fine.
  13. Agree with the tune, xtx or ratworks makes heck of a difference with any gun, I had a ratworks r10 and was mighty impressed with the work and difference it made to an already quite good gun. But it's a journey, constantly checking new guns, trying different ones out, it's addictive, chopping and changing, regretting letting that certain one go....I make sure I have at least 4 keepersat any one time, but I still keep an eye open for the next one to join us.
  14. I have the marksman mate, your right it's a beast of a thing. And like you I tried a twink but my hw mod was better.
  15. Jimmy, do it pal, Mine is a one in a million rifle, from the day I got it, shoots so well you couldn't make it up, but the a&m totally transformed it, was a good solid rifle, and it didn't bother me about the weight, but once I felt the change, no way on this earth would I go back.
  16. Personally, I have both you mention, I prefer the hw100, but they both shoot good, the hw certainly has the edge. however, I have done a few mods to my hw, it has the a&m cylinder, brings the balance back into the shoulder and much higher shot count, I also swapped the mod for the a&m, neither upgrades were cheap, but both well worth doing.
  17. So, they going to promote high standards for game shoots as in the second paragraph, and further down they are going to ban the rearing of game birds !!!!
  18. Wheat works well, they target my pheasant feeders as much as the peanut feeders
  19. In that case, you may struggle a bit at the mo on mackerel, bit early for them but you may hit lucky IF you can find a boat that will bother looking this time of year. i would say get out wrecking, bass, pollock and cod been the main stay and all very good eating. or a dedicated bass trip, but bag limits apply and that's more for purists chasing pb's than filling the freezer. plaice are starting to show, but personally I wouldn't charter for them. I would go wrecking, every port has charters, spirit of Arun is a good boat, where are you based and I will let you kno
  20. What would you like to fish for ? from Dover to Penzance and back up the west side there are some awesome charters, really depends what you would like to target as in the best port to sail from.
  21. You won't regret it, opens up a whole new world and perspective, I often sit watching barn owls hunting rats around my pens with mine, great as a general spotter as well as hunting tool. Ianb is your man if your looking for something he stocks.
  22. Time to face facts, it's never coming back, and will do more harm than good dragging it up.
  23. Problem is, and I've said it many times, EVERYONE Needs to stand together to fight anything, if it's just down to airgun users, your doomed, same as the fox hunting ban, I'm not a follower or even a fan of the hunt, but I stood up for them, and the grouse moors, I do it for every aspect of countryside sports as it will be what makes a difference.
  24. Everyone I know who has either used mine or has one of their own say the same thing, one guy was real bad and it made him pretty, ill, dizzy and sick, I don't get that bad, but I do loose all normal vision for a good few minutes, bear in mind it's pretty much constantly glued to my eye when scanning though. I suffer no effect from my nv units (pulsar n870lrf) i think its just the same as using a bright torch at night, then switch it off, you will have lost all your natural night vision. It doesn't bother me that much, but makes me wonder what the long term effects will be if any.
