  1. I take that as a no then shall I.
  2. About 11 years ago I was taken to court, two blokes climbed over my gate, 6 foot high metal,, that was padlocked, had a sign on it saying beware of the dogs. luckily, only one dog was out at the time, but she nailed one of them pretty good, anyways, long story short came home to a police notice on the gate, contacted them, invited for an interview which I duly done, was threatened with charges for keeping a dangerous dog unless I had it destroyed in which case it would all go away, I point blank refused. Had numerous council officers round, dog warden etc etc, it was all agreed the d
  3. Sounds great, till the dog grabs your foot/ankle/leg and pulls you off balance, you’d be as much use as a one legged man in an arse picking contest
  4. Mine comes ferreting, and does a bit of bushing, but it’s nothing like a dedicated dog for the job, he’s also very hard mouthed so you wouldn’t be doing much with anything he catches. Its not really the physical stuff they crave, it’s more mental stimulation, the easiest way to wear him out is take him for a drive, window down, 50mph, he goes into mental overdrive checking everything going past, an hour like that and he sleeps like a baby for the next 3hrs ! I do physical stuff with mine as I want him strong and fit, his primary role is guarding the place, no one gets in unannounced
  5. No not really, I haven’t changed much in my life for them, they just happen to suit what I do
  6. Mine starts his day around 6am, and is been worked or stimulated in some form until dark, that's 7 days a week, then maybe every other night he comes out shooting as well. It's not neseccarily always doing physical stuff, a lot of it is stimulating his mind, even doing basic walk, heel and stay training, it works his mind, he works stock as well, and try to fit a couple hours physical training.
  7. Dunno mate, they were x bred things, one looked like a small gsd but pure white, the other thing was supposed to have some oz dingo in it from memory. I had met them a good few times and they were not particularly nasty dogs, or ever looked at me twice before that day, I never saw them as any kind of threat, they were just another ordinary mongrel dog. Tell thee what though, took me by surprise, you don't realise how quick it all goes off, I've seen hundreds of dogs fighting, been around big dogs all my life, owned, trained and worked around guard breeds for many a good year now,
  8. Have you (or your friends) ever been in a position when a dog or dogs have turned full on ? I have, and believe me I am no little shrinking violet, and I can tell you with first hand experience, it's not just a bite, hand on heart I honestly thought I was not coming out the other side of it, no dog has ever scared me in my life, I always thought I would give them a good kicking, but it's a totally different experience when a dog turns, fast and unrelenting, one dog you may have a chance, if there is two working together it's nigh on impossible to fend both off. I was in a bad state, and t
  9. I've got a Mali, and believe me those vids are a true reflection of the breed., they need serious amounts of stimulation and work. It would take some bloke to be able to stop one, am sure they do not feel pain. Not for the feint hearted that's for sure, but once a bond has formed they would die for you.
  10. So is this likely to happen then or what ?
  11. I do them all year round, and often have some, such a shame as lots of meat left on them
  12. Half the problem, is not just the weight, it's the balance, your gun feels front heavy to me, a heavy gun can be fine if it's got a good balance to it, take my hw100 for example, I changed the silencer and cylinder, it's still not a light gun (in comparison to an ultra) but the balance is excellent, it's transferred the weight into the shoulder so feels a lot lighter than it actually is. get rid of those batteries and build/buy a pack to slip in your pocket, doesn't sound a lot but it makes hell of a difference. come see me one day, we can try it out on a few of mine to give y
  13. All joking aside, you probably have got the above mentioned noodle arms, but, it is a pretty heavy set up, nv adds a heap of weight as well, did you ever get a battery pack as that scope has four batts in it........
  14. This is a major problem I have, my dogs get on fine together, but strange dogs they do not like, my old bitch got attacked twice when younger, now she doesn't wait, any dog comes near and it's getting both barrels from her, it can be quite embarrassing at times, I have a younger one who loves all dogs, but as soon as she lets rip he is on it as well, they team up in a blink of an eye. My dogs are all guard dog types, (but they all work gun and field) and that's what I use them for, it's their life, so I have to accept it as part and parcel of what I have them for. once they get to kn
  15. One of mine knows she ain't allowed to take anything off tables, worktops etc etc, but anything on the floor is fair game, I kept hearing a noise so snuck in the kitchen and she was bumping the tray of freshly cooked sausages on the worktop so they rolled off and onto the floor. The same one cannot stand tea or coffee, but does like a beer as I found out to my cost.
  16. Ha ha, I had a bloke work for me tried that, kept asking my clients to deal direct, the clients told me, he was out on his arse, so it can backfire
  17. If it's the only time you could get off, it's the best time to go mate, enjoy.
  18. Just checked and I think your in the next hotel up from where I was, so it's not far, if you head to the beach behind the resort and head south along the beach some good sharking to be had. when you going ?
  19. Depending what u want to do with boats, this fella has the best Rep on the islands, he has several boats and employs locals as well as skippers himself I had 3 trips out with him last time, we landed marlin, sails, some monster amberjack, untold wahoo, we were on the fish every trip. he will supply everything, just turn up and get on board, I would suggest booking though, he was always busy.
  20. That's where I stayed, two big hotels just west of Santa Maria, riu something or another, couldn't fault the hotel, head down to the pier in santa to see what the locals are landing, makes your eyes water some days, some excellent shark fishing right on the southwest point from the beach, or you looking for boat fishing ?
  21. I went to sal and the fishing was out of this world, had my first marlin from there, had sail as well, can't wait to get back again.
