  1. The problem is that she's deluded enough to believe what her plan was, and still is, a good one ! She's got until Monday to kid herself, and her dwindling crowd of self-serving sycophants that some other Muppetry-level daydream is just as good ! I'm with you - I want 'no deal'. Sadly, the noble House does not agree !
  2. Because both Houses have a Remain majority, and a growing number who favour BrexitRef2 - there's already been several attempts to get 'no deal' out of the equation, and I have no doubt they will continue, until the right wording for a motion is stumbled upon ! I'm simply not underestimating a politicians willingness to brazenly backstab their own electorate !
  3. I reckon that BrexitRef2 will be the chosen route, because it offers the Commons the simplest way to invoke their Remain majority. The Electoral Reform Commission doesn't allow 3 way questions so, of "PMs deal (or its replacement)", "No deal" and "Stay in", the first 2 would split the Leave vote, so only one would be allowed........ take a wild guess which 2 would be on the agenda......... Answers on a postcard to "Yes, we know that's what you wanted, but we think our opinion is more important than yours" competition c/o House of Commons, London.
  4. Parliament, of both Houses, has a Remain majority, so I can't see any way 'no deal' can get through - even though that's exactly what I, and most other Leavers, actually voted for. I'm sure that, as we speak, they're cooking up some way to scupper the whole thing - either via BrexitRef2 or withdrawing the withdrawal. All the need to come up with is the appropriate window dressing, spun together with a few choice buzz phrases. I'm not putting it past them !
  5. The government has the power to introduce legislation to withdraw the withdrawal..........and we'd Remain ! Wouldn't put anything past the treacherous swines !
  6. The confidence motion will be debated tomorrow evening, and May will win........ The DUP have said they will support her, and all today's Tory rebels will back her............they won't want to publicly sack their own leader, on live TV. As for Brexit - 7uck knows ! I can't see how any single side can get their views accepted by the House..........are we shuffling inexorably towards BrexitRef2 ?? Or can the House, or the government, find a way to scrap the whole thing, and Remain ??
  7. Right. Lads and Lasses.......... We've got 10 or 15 minutes at most - how many will she lose by ? I'm going for 142.
  8. To hold another referendum, saying "we'll honour that result", is admitting that we won't honour the original result, which goes against the most basic principles of democracy ! There seems no doubt the PM will lose, but what I will find most interesting will be her immediate reaction ! Will send stay and make the old "I get it" statement.........or will she turn on her heels and leave the House straightaway ?
  9. ......as well as several heavily subsided bars and restaurants !
  10. The PM has received a letter of reassurance from the EU. The last time our leader said "In my hand, I have a piece of paper.........", it didn't go too smoothly !
  11. Mrs May made a speech in a pottery factory just now - speaking in front of a pile of mugs.........write your own punchline ! She's determined to persist with her plan, adding that neither she nor the EU want to see the backstop come into force, and would only be temporary, if it did. Which begs the question - why are they both persisting with it ? Switzerland is outside the EU customs union, but has no hard borders with its 5 EU neighbours, while Turkey is IN the customs union and had a heavily policed border - borders and customs unions don't necessarily go hand in hand, it see
  12. Len, i have heard some ignorant, ill thought out opinions in my time, but that one is right up there ! Over several years experience, I worked with probably hundreds of homeless people - not one of them chose that life. I could tell you heartbreaking tales, believe me. Nobody sets out to f*** their life up - bad things happen to good people, people make bad decisions and lives can quickly spiral out of control. I know a mentally ill young man who recently had his benefit sanctioned for 4 weeks.........for being 10 minutes late for a Job Centre appointment ! How is he supposed to feed
  13. I'm aware that there are some who will take advantage, that's why I spoke of the genuine homeless !
  14. I worked with a homeless organisation for several years, and I have tremendous sympathy for anyone who finds themselves in that situation - I know there are some chancers who jump on the bandwagon, but the vast majority are genuine, and no-one I ever met chose it - it's a lifestyle that is inflicted on them ! It's something that can happen very easily to anyone, at any time, however secure you think your life might be right now. If you really want to help the genuine homeless, this would be my advice......... DON'T give them money directly ! You will often be finding drug or alcohol
  15. If being homeless has one benefit, it's that you don't have to be in Sunderland !
  16. Drivers like that should be made to pay all costs incurred to all parties !
  17. Nena ! 99 Luftballons...... Neatly trimmed, mind !
  18. I wish I had the first idea what this is about..........
  19. +1 for CCC3. I've used them for years - one policy (30 quid a year) covers air rifle, rifle, shotgun, ferreting, dogs, the lot - even fishing and drones !
  20. In preparation for a 'no deal' Brexit, the government has awarded cross Channel ferry contracts to three firms. One is Danish, one is French..........and the third is Seaborne Freight. They have been given almost £14 BILLION of public money to run ferries from Ramsgate to the continent.............despite having no ships, never having fun a ferry service, a director whose last shipping company collapsed - and publishing terms and conditions that appear to have been copied and pasted from a takeaway menu ! (Sighs heavily, puts head in hands !) https://www.dailymail.co.uk/n
  21. I once went to bed with a fox and woke up next to a dog !
  22. My best mate is Hungarian, and he once told me this....... At the end of the war, some American troops marched throgugh Budapest, with crowds gathered to watch them go past. His dad (who was then a small boy) had never seen a darkie before. He pointed at a black GI and said "Look - monkey !" The soldier had a go at him, for being rude and lad said " Mum - monkey talks !"
  23. Let the eggs go really manky and break them INSIDE the phone box.
  24. Just let people get on with their lives and mind your own business............. .............failing that, the chicken eggs won't break if you don't grip them too hard !
