  1. I leapt in and made one this morning! At least I'l know which tools I've left somewhere else!
  2. Avoid the 'General Topics' forums - the language can get a bit 'industrial' at times - your Mum might not be too happy!
  3. The shed strictly is out of bounds to Mrs.B ! I'm not really a hoarder, but I do keep clean, straight timber,re-usable screws and bolts - that sort of thing. Never seen the sense in throwing away something I can put to another use. I've always been an incurable 'skip rat', and while I don't take just any old cr4p, I've retrieved so much useful stuff over the years, you wouldn't believe it.... (I was going to have a board with outlines on it, but you've given me second thoughts now!)
  4. i can't think of any other occupation where you have to wait for a parent to die before you can take up your job.
  5. LP's !!! Haven't heard tham called that for years! How many youngsters don't even know that an album used to have 2 sides?
  6. Someone very close to me is bipolar, so any level of education or information will help dispel the many myths!
  7. Me and a mate bumped into him in a shopping centre in about '96. More than happy to stand and chat, have a laugh and sign some autographs. Genuinely nice guy and a gentleman - deserves better than what fate has handed him!
  8. If you add a smiley,do you get up-graded to First Class? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2373625/Is-ridiculous-Home-Office-stunt-Vans-encourage-illegal-immigrants-send-texts-free-advice-getting-home.html?ito=feeds-newsxml Just one volunteer will recoup the £11,000 running cost, so maybe it's not such a daft idea?
  9. The Royal baby will boost the economy by £240 million, it's reckoned! That's a lot of T-towels and china plates - hang on, most of those plates will actually be made in China, won't they?
  10. Firstly, who rides a horse in Manchester? Secondly, did she not spot that it's called a DRVE- thru? Thirdly, did she want a Big Muck and fries????

  17. Very sad - a very funny man and, by all accounts, a total gentleman.
  18. We should be provided with the information to make an informed decision. At the moment, this stuff is everywhere and we are eating it without our knowledge....... There are similar issues around kosher foods - can't we pick on the Jews, just for a change?
  19. i agree, chaps. I have nothing to fear from the police, because i don't break the law. If you put yourself in a bad situation, don't be surprised when bad things happen to you!
  20. My first reaction to Guantanemo suspects is 'F**k 'em!' - but then my sensible side kicks in. I am no fan of Muslims (as some of you may have noticed) but we often denounce their desire to overthrow the rule of law. If they are believed to have committed a crime, put them on trial - that is the rule of the law and democracy that they despise so much!! To have held these men for so long, without trial or even the most basic legal representation has only given our enemies ammunition, and in my opinion, does not sit easily next to the ideas of law and order that we all hold dear.
  21. If any of your kids have school meals, wherever you are in the country, the chances are that the meat is halal. Almost all meat served in take-aways (of all kinds) is halal. This stuff is everywhere - very difficult to avoid it,unfortunately. There are laws being drawn up to require the compulsory, clear labelling of halal meat, but, as usual, the final approval will rest with Brussels. Mind you, this was only called for when it was revealed that House of Commons canteens had been serving halal meat, without MP's knowledge! Further reading.......... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/
  22. Watched the film, but don't really care - I'm already skint ! Got my bug-out bag ready, just in case, though!
  23. He's only on remand, blue. Not been found guilty of anything - even though he has confessed and was filmed doing it!
