  1. The last bit of greenbelt local to me was supposed to be protected, but i hear 3000 houses are going to be built on there, there is a few protest banners being put on fences, but when i saw the new drainage systems going in a few years ago, i thought it might not be too long before the money men got their way, selfish f****n parasites
  2. I remember reading somewhere about standing on a dogs hind feet whenever they tried to jump up, but cannot remember if it was in a book, or in that moody paper lol
  3. That high performance jukel is wasted on you, no good getting that sort of breeding unless you're going to put it behind strong sporting quarry, how about an exchange for a hancock flyballer ?
  4. That's interesting mate, i thought they were around southern lincolnshire and down south from there, good to hear they are making their way up the country, like to see them, aswell as CWD... Cheers
  5. Never heard of a northern population of muntjac mate
  6. I have only come here seeking knowledge, Things they would'nt teach me of in college
  7. The one trick ponies of today what exactly are they ?, i've never known a running dog of any breeding that did'nt show an interest in working a variety of quarry given the opportunityyes most running dogs show intrest. But is that enough some excel at coursing some at lamping exc. When we were young there was only space for one running dog.It was expected to take rabbit hare and feather exc And do the job when out with the terriers Today a lot of lurcher lads keep diferent lurchers for different jobs. Well i dont know what other lads do with their dogs, as i drift around the windy land with nobo
  8. I'd like to have muntjac aswell as CWD in my neck of the woods, there's been a noticeable decline of some species of wildlife, i can see what some people are saying about them being a pain, but sometimes you don't appreciate things until it's too late, fields devoid of the creatures that used to reside there in number sure have a lonely feel to them

  10. Take your number off mate, you'll have dytkos on the blower all slack eyed and silly full of liquid gold poppers lol
  11. Where's Jeff when you need him ?, The days when no mean man could keep a greyhound unless it's feet were smashed with a mallet are long gone, and the pleasure of watching a dog run in a sporting way can be as or more important than catching game for the pot to some of the modern day lurcher keepers
  12. I found a dead fox in a field a few years ago, when i passed by a while later it had decomposed and the skull was in good condition so i took it, and it now rests on top of my old dog run, one person thought it was a lambs skull
  13. Don't know if he gets on here much these days, but try sending Roberto M a pm
  14. What did you get mate, a sprinter, or distance dog ?
  15. I hear she's a big old walloper aswell that soup maker
  16. Get yourself a couple of pound of best beef dripping and a saucepan. Then keep it for yourself. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/346427-cant-get-anyone-to-do-the-rabbits/?do=findComment&comment=4014185 scrumptious. TC Do you rub the dripping on your chest on a harsh winters night ?
  17. Like the sound of your bitch Matt, i'd be happy to own a greyhound like her, what was the land like that she coursed on ?
  18. Get yourself away over the windy land and make some footprints of your own, no good following someone else like a puppy dog, as if they ever come to a sudden stop your canister will go half way up there keister
  19. At that distance though the quarry might not have been running until the bitch got close up on it, and dogs of this breeding can improve on obedience, recall etc while being worked, their prey drive and endurance can be off the scale, and they just need to be out running to get the best out of them
  20. I wonder if any of these modern day dogs have any traits from the beddy blood, or is the wooly gene the only thing that has stayed with them ?
  21. I knew a drug dependent alcoholic who had a lurcher bitch called Buzz back in the nineties, i reckon his poor dogs would have been buzzing stuck in a room with him and his jam roll cronies sucking on their resin reefers
