  2. Hi just noticed you mention a peg dog & sitting behind you not good idea always sit them in front of you if on a peg. There are some very good part trained dogs on the go if you know what to look for.
  3. Hi try get a book & read on them & there life/behavour etc its quite basic really. There is alot of movement in the world of roe in march/aprill & may with young bucks being oust out. You can get that extra 1 or 2 with some comming in thats been oust out. You will need to get out day & night & see what you can see what & where to get an idea of what you have.
  4. Hi Keno cut the head before you boil it & the white on your 1st heads antlers was proberly velvet that came off when you boiled it me thinks not peroxide as darcy stated. Hey MOO your one to talk cue ball. I ken fit you mean sauer get stick all the time for his looks but what about his figure??? needs a few weeks grouse beating me thinks.
  5. That is light in colour for a kid mark & i saw a doe last night looking very swell & this morning there was a wee kid with her in the field great to see made my day.

  7. Hi im on my fourth lab now & all have been great at the beating & will go through any cover to flush/retrieve game. Im down to 2 labs now as iv just retired my old dog he is 12yrs soon. I work 2 bitches black & yellow & have a cocker going on 3 in september & these little dogs do come into there own odd times beating with heavy/thick cover & if well trained a joy to handle/work.
  8. Yeh cool its your land but you lot totally miss the point as i said STRESS & DISTURBANCE can cause serious impact on nesting birds & general wildlife. Its that attatude of its my lad that makes it ok then despite the distress caused that makes it ok fair enough SORRY. Why you think the right to roam act stipulates that dogs should be on a lead at said time of year. Stress is a killer on nesting birds you only need to go to a happy hen/free range egg laying facility to show how the egg production goes down when charlie starts to do the rounds due to STRESS. I am a dog owner myself &
  9. Why you running a dog at this time of year causing sterss to wildlife trying to nest & bring on new ie fawns etc. As a dog owner myself the summer is hard to walk. Exersize is a nightmare at this time of year if i wish to run my dogs free due to there hunting abilatie.
  10. Nice one dave looks a medal class beast & that highseat must have some thing about it with neck shooting as thats where my 1st stirlingshire & only buck was shot in the neck & that seat well done.
  11. Hi donza11 roebuck220 is correct & i know fact iv been there done it but i also used to work where we managed the deer. There is a big problem with groups of stags comming of the hill/forestry & comming into grass & siliage & do damage & when you have 100+ stags in & farmers moaning they need shot. My mate up north had 200-300 stags comming into a field of tates & pulling up the tates in july but couldent shoot them due to some red tape/politics.
  12. Im sure that is a pic that was in the Sun a few years back & that lady had driven 20+ miles with it in the front like that to her work. They got the rspca in & they took it away it survived & was ok ok just a little bit cut & shocked & recoverd think it was released too cant remember.
  13. I have exactly the same issue with my Fabarm Eurolion, my gun will NOT cycle 65mm cartridges at all!!! 67mm or longer cartridges are no problem whatsoever, so my advice is stick with the longer cartridges Ade Mine is a lion 368 black/syn 6-shot 3-4yrs old & is great but it dose work the 65mm carts but is likely to jam at some point with them. As i said with the 67mm & up its faultless but i have kinda sold it now but the buyer aint paid in full yet but i still have it. I got the beretta urika 2 black/syn & it shoots 65mm nobother it aint jamed since i got it .
  14. Iv shot for 21yrs & 5's are the choice for me at every thing ie doos/rabbits/crows/game etc normally 30g dose me. If im on the hares i up it to 32g or 4's. I normally go for price on carts as im not that flush but if i can get 5's great but i get on great with 6's/7's etc too.
  15. For fox i vary between amber on my lightforce SL170 & i have a clusion LA10 2million candle which i dont have a fillter kit yet for but just shine it off them a bit if not so keen. I found the red good for our rabbits but i vary it about between the amber & normal.
  16. 36g Varget & 87g v-max but there is plenty to choose from the v-max range & Varget is the powder of choice for this cal.
  17. Well done love the 15yrd shot this may sound bad but about 12yrs ago i was sat with my 222 & a roe came out which i shot off the hip at about 4ft away.
  18. Good on you Dave congrats to the newbie i enjoy taken others out to i get a kick out seeing them taken it all in & question after question well done.
  19. Try asking round rifle builders ie jacksons they will be able to help. Im sure you can get a McMillian lazzeronie inlet for the sako not sure but it will cost £400-£600 & you could wait 3-4months + & it still needs bedding etc. As i said phone round jacksons/SYSS/riflecraft/rg-rifles etc the list goes on hope this helps.
  20. Hi im in Angus Scotland under taypolice & they changed 5-6yrs ago to the fact that you can only but bullet heads as to the amount on your ticket to purchase/aquire. we used to be able to buy as much & what we liked then over night they changed the law & we had to go to our local RFD & give them heads to hold for us as we were over our maximum to hold at anyone time. I work a 22.250 & 25/06 & can buy 200 hold 300 for each cal. Arveyboy you can buy a box of 100 heads but your RFD Can only give you 60 out of it then next day you can go in & get the rest as said either
  21. Hi some semi-autos struggle with 65mm(2,1/2") cartridges but you get 67mm too in (2,1/2") my Fabarm 6-shot jamed with the 65mm but 67mm & up it was great. The higher brass is pressure so the cartridge loaded can take more as in heavyer loads. Mine cycled light loads fine just not that reliable on 65mm stuff but if the gun is new it should work from the start. Try some 70mm(2,3/4") carts & see how that goes. I have a beretta urika 2 & it shoots every thing no problem.
  22. Its only illegal on the calender as said many stags are shot on some estates in scotland due to tick etc. Another problem is that the stags come into the grass at this time of year & do cause alot of damage. I have ground not far from me were they come in & i tryed to get permission on land to get them as DCS would grant a licence quite easy to shoot them as they are comming out forestry & will genrally stand up to you at this time of year so you can bag a few. Some estates even work catches to drive the No. down a bit savage but as said they ar labeled as vermin pitty really.
  23. Here is some old pics of a gold freak i got with a guest. Here is a pic of a seven pointer i got that near went bronze its the head on the far right of the pic.
  24. They germans are mad they always want to buy heads when they ask if you have shot medal bucks & can see them.
  25. Hi & well done i must join the club as im a freak roe head lover & dont get or see many on my ground.
