  1. Some very good advice there & as said you have a huge dilema & she is not obediant mate as if so she would stop to your whistle & you wouldent have a dog go 200m away. The method RS uses with running in opposite direction is good but more done with a pup that keeps its head down or wont listen. so you walk away or hide from the pup to build insucurity but with a 9month dog you will need to run away from her. I presonally would go right back to basics with the sit/stop whistle in a controled enviroment & get it down to 100%. Once sitting instintally to whistle i would change a

    Pinkfoot Geese

I bet they taste like chicken!! Sorry yes i like them a bit like duck so to me very good but you get old geese ie 15yrs old + so they could be tough.
  4. I picked up a good tip from a trialler who got it from wendy openshaw & for a wet dog get a leather or synthetic shammy as it soaks up the water & is very compact to carry & drys them quick.

    Pinkfoot Geese

sounds like montrose to me Yes it is Montrose & there is a count of 51thou in now & you can shoot your pink limit with ease & fowlers are getting them in half a flight.

    Pinkfoot Geese

I know what your saying & greed did kick in a wee bit as i took my limit & plus the 1 i got returned to me so had 6 & is basically a record for me. I never bother the geese much in my area due to them getting hounded. In a month fae now you will struggle to get a goose on the mud flats of the basin & my family & i are big eaters of the game i get & iv given a friend 2 of the bigger geese thats what he wants for lobster & partons .
  7. I had a morning on thursday at my local marsh with plenty geese in our area. I was heading out to a shoot so kept to the edge & had a right & left with my newish beretta semi-auto. I then moved onto the mud 100yrd or so out & got another 3 pinks by 6.45am & was at my limit. I had hit a young pinker which fell dead into another fowlers decoys 300-400yrds away. He made his way to me when he saw i had packed up at the edge of the marsh to give me my young pinker which i said for him to keep but he had enough & had shot a greylag too. So i thanked this nice wildfowler up from m
  8. I shot a buck very simillar on monday to yours a nice 4 pointer but his head gear was well intact. On the ground i shot him i have to take them as i see them & he came in at 40lb clean very good condition for his age. I am in a very good medal area & our big lads quite offten cast from now as iv seen big 6 pointers 3rd week in january & clean 2nd-3rd week in febuary.
  9. Im in Montrose & our montrose basin is moving with geese i recon 30tho + & a few duck showing up now. I aint been out much but have had a golden eye & a hen wigeon on the 1st & plan to go out on the basin tonight & tomorrow. I cant beleave the amount of geese in & think they are well up on numbers than last year at this time its just moving with them.
  10. Hi for the hill you want to cut wait trust me so for the normal hill-keeper stalker is 8x30 swarovski slc to spy & a spotting scope to look in detail for stags. Any decent 8x bins will do & 10x is a bit much as the eye can only handle 7x. If they are for in your rover etc then 8x42 would be very line to go down thats what i work but work lighter 8x32 when stalking.
  11. Come on Tom you new it was a greylag why ask???. Well done on the goose i havent shot any yet this year.
  12. Hi i know spence & his FTCH dog & it was a very good dog & size. I also seemed to produce good pups i cant beleave he isnt studding it no more it was a cracker of a dog iv seen it work & some of its protogee.

    PINKS

I have just had 30-40 come over the house tonight comming into montrose basin saw my first lot beging of the week.
  14. Sorry but dont you mean a strong woddler as iv never seen a duck run sorry couldent resist. Well done to you seen them on laid crop quite a bit & its easyer for the dog rather than the water ie river/sea. A wounded duck can be a pain on water diving from the dog much rather pick them on land.
  15. My diks not little just ask your mum ...not bad hopefully buying a new browning cynergy black ice tomorrow Are you at home??? & have you got what you were after ticket wize??. It was your wife that told me about the little toy you have but you make up for it with stamina & willing ness to please. I take it your going for the black ice with the pink composite look it will suit you. I have just seen 22 pinks that i would say are new commers tonight walking the dogs so it looks like its them comming.
  16. I had a BSA CF2 in 243 & 222 & they were great. I used the 243 all the time & had no probs with the poi after 4-5 shots. My dad now has my 222 & its not seen day light in years & was very accurate i loved the stuzens. My mate had a manlicher 243 & that moved about a bit so he got rid of it but it was a very nice rifle.
  17. Very good but i need it camoed up as not to scare the ducks comming in. I bet you hear that sound alot when you are shagging with all the air getting in by your little d**k vulva man. Hows tricks any way???
  18. Hi you mention the 8x57 i used to use a 8x57js but as for your mod answer the magnum rounds are a whole diffrent ball game & you need to state that when buying the mod as a 30cal mod would not be fit for a 300 win mag dispite being a 30cal too. Alot of mods state there use on web sites for cals ie can be used up to 300 win ultra mag or for up to 25cal etc.
  19. Nice well done the pooch looks an old pooch what you think of those dog vests would you recomend for dogs out on the massh/rocks of our coast??.

    1st september

There is about 130 canada geese & odd local grey/pink but other than that there not started comming in yet vulva man!!
  21. Hi i was out this morning & slept in a wee bit getting there at 5.35am but all was quiet so not much movment. By 5.45 i was in my spot & after 5min a few mallard was comming up & the shots gave the other shooters position away so it was fine to know where other fowlers were. A pricked mallard pitched in beside me so i picked it with my dog & offered it back to the fowlers 100yrd or so below & opposite me & told to keep it. So no shots for me & im 1 mallard up. I had 1 teal / 4 mallard & 1 golden eye come by me but i felt they were not safe to shoot due to being
  22. I was looking at some on rifles at RG-rifles & they were very nice indeed & felt good. Im going to get 1 next time im there as i have had trouble finding 1 i like they were £34-£36 cant remember nor the make of them. They were like the £34 1's on bushwear you mention.
  23. To be honest i havent been looking but have heard the mallard on the river near me & there is a few going about mallard/teal. We have some canada geese in but they wont hang round much once the shooting starts & im out in the morning tomorow for the 1st cant wait. Dont think the duck have done to bad this year breeding & expecting a few second brood stuff maybe so might still be early yet for them.
  24. Send it back to be re-purged with nitrogen is your only option really & if its a swarovski etc they will do it free for you or they normally do.
  25. For the .22rf its not heavy & i think its 6 & two 3's with the mod & mine is always on the rifle. When it comes to the cf-rifles then yes the balance goes all to pot but the positives of the mod to me out way not having it on & i dont like the boom now. As for balance i recently looked at some custom rifles & must admit they balanced so much better that it shocked me & they were not heavy rifles either. I dont know if it was the actions its self or the MacMillian stocks but it felt unreal to me my tikka 695 felt heavyer to me any way.
