i went for a little shot today and achieved this.... using the 87g v-max.............. 5 shot group outside to outside...... and finally center to center......... And yes it's under 1/4 MOA........ ATB. Snap.

.243 Will do everything you need... trust me i've been shooting one longer than i care to remember... i currently shot a fallow last year at 281 yards....... it dropped instantly heart shot.. if you can put the bullet where it needs to go its dead.... simple... for foxing 22-250, 222, 243...... all excellent choices.... As for not stable, is your friend trying to shoot heavy bullets through a slow twist or what.....? In the end you and you alone will make your decision..... good luck. try and get a few shots with the calibre's you think you would like to have -
pump actions are for people who watch too many film's, and i really think they have no place in the field, especially if a follow on shot is needed.....

indeed keith, i,ve shot a five shot group into .261" centre to centre so i'd gladly call it a shooter. and cheers mate. Snap.

different cases have different volumes inside thus changing pressure within the case, this may be one reason, that and also the primer change may have thrown a spanner in the works too... stick to one brand of component, and if anything changes you have to work up your load again.... ATB. Snap. ps the nickel cases look nic but they are to hard to work with.... IMHO. best of luck.
