  1. HELLO!! like minded people, i saw a post about weather forecasts somewhere and this is what i always go by whenever i'm planing to go out for a shot. As it's very accurate because it uses most of the airports weather forecasting equipment plus the weather stations both in the uk and eire, load up the page put your cursor over an arrow in your area click and it gives you wind speed, direction, and a seven day forecast!!!!! who needs a TV. site is........ xc weather.co.uk ENJOY.
  2. Yeah macnas!! not to blow my own trumpet but it looked a hell of a long way away too... it was a very good night and not a breeze, no livestock, with a safe backstop and no houses so i decided to take the shot and surprised myself Its my longest shot yet an i've been shooting since i was an ankle biter. I saved my money and bought the best i could afford, then the credit union took a knock and i decided to top it off with a leupold M1 mark4 lr/t scope mil-dot. and i'm over the moon with it. An old friend said to me whatever you do spend the same amount if not more on the scope than the rif
  3. People just a wee freebie for you. type in ballistics software in google and you'll find it as. www.stevespages.com this is the only way i could find it. it has all the ballistics software a shooter could need. I downloaded the lee precision software. scroll down the page and you will see it, all you need then is your bullets speed and bc and this little honey will do the rest. And its accurate as a week ago i shot charlie at 420 yards through the shoulder side on with 70grain blitzkings.. ranged him dialed up and bang!!!! happy days hope its of use to you all. plus its free

  5. well Ian, i have to say that my .17hmr just loves the v-max bullets, its a cz american heavy barrell, i find them great i've also shot tnt's and remmy's but best accuracy from v-max i chrony the bullets and the v-max was most consistant comming in at around 2550fps consistantly. wheras the other two bullets went from 2500 up to 2575fps i both. cleaning is a pain after i clean my rifle accuracy goes topot for about 15 rnds then tightens in again. anyone found this..... i just love the little fecker for all round plinking.
  6. Thanks guys for the welcome the guys up in the sticks here would have nothing less than .243 for saying hello to old charlie with. but i take on what your saying, i've never shot at ol charlie at 5 or 6 hundred, but i've wipped out a few at around four to four 30, yards and as for the noise i've got a moderator on.... the nice lads at stations near us say da .223 is a military round, and no way can we get a fac, near da border.. but i know a few who have one and yes i'm goin to say it "it's the dogs bollocks" i'm happy with the .243 as it does both the job of deer rifle, and pest control
