its a very capable deer round, and has excellent accuracy, the hornady 129g sst is an excellent bullet for deer, it also an excellent long range round too so a good comprimise of both target and hunting calibre.... Snap.

i bought a knife very similar to the one you have, i couldn't sharpen it for love nor money.... its lying in a drawer now.... rubbish quality........ but then again it was reflected in the price... Snap.

Lads it's not just the airgun section that the behind the scenes info is being asked on..... i do get quite a bit of pm's for members looking for info, on centrefire issues..... i try my best to ansewer them all, i'm sure the same can be said in the dog's sections..... if you cannot help with a problem, reply with crap, then your only a part of the problem, as you have no info to share yourself... We all don't know everything...... it's what we can learn from each other that will make us better at what we do.... SNAP.

if that is your budget mate then, its the budget, all i can recommend is to search the net for good and bad point on each and then make your mind up... i have nikon monarch binos for stalking, and if the scope glass is as good you won't go far wrong... ATB. Snap.

personally, if i was flush enough i'd go the custom route, for this calibre, you won't be poping of targets at 300, or 400 yards with it. its too bloody expensive.. you'd need at least a 30 " barrel. there is a hell of alot of powder to burn... plus you want as accurate as is possible to reach out there.... RIGHT CHAPS EXCUSE MY IGNORANCE AND THIS MAY BE A REAL DUMB QUESTION, BUT HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN YOURE BARREL IS ON ITS WAY OUT? ATB MARK one way is to borescope the barrel and see the damage done, 2) you will notice a drop off in accuracy of a proven round, really bad you will see the bullet tumble rather than rotate.... you'll see a distinct long shape rather than a clean circle were the bullet impacted... Snap.

mate i can highly recommend the border archer barrel's and i'd keep the cal at .243 as well... really easy cleaned, and very very accurate...... Snap.

look for a second hand leica lrf scanmaster 1200.... excellent.... but you may need just a little more cash..... not much... you won't be sorry.... buy once cry once... Snap.
