  2. id like to put an order in for 40..... how much we talking ?
  3. VERY IMPRESSIVE.. 12 SHOTS.... 1.73 SECONDS ! I MIGHT HAVE TO THE MRS IF I CAN HAVE ONE FOR XMAS..
  4. you could always use those small glow tubes about 1" long that go on top of floats for night fishing.. richie
  5. all year round for me...... the owners of the land i control wouldnt be too pleased if i said i couldnt ferret & control the rabbits 12 months a year. if it gets over grown, i get at the bushes & brambles with the petrol hedge trimmer a week before i go. richie
  6. It just kinda made me wonder coz the youngest jill is only 6mths and after the first set of holes she seemed to refuse to go down anymore holes,so decided that she may be a little to young and so put her back in carry box to have a sleep..... every human will act differently to a situation & so will every animal.. in total i have 5 ferrets, 1 jill & 4 hobs. one of my hobs, "dougie" who is about 2 years old now, has no interest atall.. tried breaking him into to it, but just refuses to go in a set.. hes a bit chilled out, so i dont take him out & just let him have regular
  7. i started working mine at 4 months.... and some didnt start till 5 months. end of the day, their only running through tunnels having fun, & a bit of on the way..
  8. whats the item number ? the link doesnt work. richie
  9. my advice, i would go & fill the entrances in with soil & pack them down, then when you return the next time, maybe the next day or two & see which holes have been re-opened. then you can see if its in use.. a few months back i was helping a mate clear a hedge row about 200 yds long, with about 100 or so holes. after ferreting this hedge & done a thorough job as we collected a large amount. as we were working our way down we were filling the holes up.. we returned 2 days later & found that around 30 or so holes had been re-opened either by rabbits that were still holed
  10. well done stubbs... about time we had a bit of decent weather to get out.. richie
  11. had an invite today from a THL member that needed a hand to work a piece of land. arrived at his at 7am and headed to the first plot. the farmer said he had seen a hundred rabbits there " we all know what farmers are like " , anyway we ended up taking a bit of time netting up & throwing the longnet around just incase any slipped. we ended up with 2 from that hedge line on two sets and missed a few that bolted from in accessable holes... always the way.. the next place we went the farmer said he had seen a few so we headed off. it was a warren just off a pathway & about 20yds from
  12. that you probably wouldnt be too poopular down the local chippy !
  13. i wouldnt put it past them ! mind you, in england, its illegal to eat mince pies on christmas day... a law that never got changed.. The law was introduced in 1644 by Oliver Cromwell to combat gluttony. richie
  14. i know where youre coming from.... gen2 & 3 would be like chalk & cheese compared to a gen1, im not doubting that for one minute, but i couldnt justify spending more on a unit for controlling bunnies, especially when im only using a rimmy. when i do move up to 17hmr i might opt for a gen 2 if im shooting out to distances further than 125 or so yards so i can clearly see way beyond my target.. if you ever get the chance, do take a look through a merlin, very good value for money & they do work well for shooters that control rabbits... ill be honest, before i bought on
  15. anything under £1000 is a toy ? do you have any experience with nightvision units, either dedicated or add-on systems ? have you looked through a cobra merlin whilst used with a 90mw laser ? i myself use a cobra merlin add-on with 90mw laser & have no problem seeing clearly out to 150yds+. this is more than enough to use with a rimfire. these add-ons cost a good part of £600, their not a toy. yeah, using a lamp is good for night work, but not put up against a nv unit. its chalk & cheese. now dont get me wrong, gen 1 compared to gen 2 is different, & proba

  17. are the terminals clean where the batteries sit, is there definately a connection when the lid is shut on the transmitter ? sometimes the metal piece on the lid of the transmitter can slide out of place, make sure its firm in place. failing that when you close the lid gently squeeze the the lid down to make sure the batteries are making contact with the lid. failing that, get on the blower to the bloke that sold it to you ! richie
  18. do you know if the batteries are new ? in both, transmitter & locator ? richie
  19. if youre holding the transmitter with the batteries furthest away from you, the right one is positive up & the one on the left is positive down. the noise is a high pitched beep, depending on how close you get to it. richie
  20. a very nice bag there.. good for a nights work. stubbs, since ive been using my rimmy with my nv setup the lamp has stayed indoors. makes night shooting alot easier. to me nv is addictive, them bunnies aint got a clue whats going to hit them. what rifle is magwitch using ? richie
