  1. is all i can say... mind you, good excuse to take the rimmy & cobra ! ive got a similier patch the farmer has asked me to hit. normally i would take the petrol hedge trimmer down the week before & spend a few hours clearing a section. im just going to plot up in the 4x4 all night & bang them out with my rimmy... richie
  2. There's still plenty there, hopefully we will do a bit better next week, there's a large wide hedgerow that holds most of the rabbits but its a right pain to ferret as the rabbits just run up and down it. out of interest, how wide is the hedge row & what sort of cover does it have ? would it be possible to run a few gate nets through the hedge ? richie
  3. looks like you still have your work cut out on that orchard... that heap of crap looked like a right pain to ferret... good going.
  4. DOHNUT first of all, sorry to hear about the outcome, i can only imagine how it feels & im gutted for you... you say the rifle was 14.81 pounds off pressure with a 21 grain pellets ? thats a heavy pellet. a bisley magnum .22 is 21.40grn & their classed as bricks that are so heavy that their shite in non FAC rated air weapons. im not surprised the old bill charged you. if your gun was firing at that ftlb & you were to put a lighter pellet through it, for example a bisley LRG which weighs 14.00grn the pellet would read nearer 22.00ftlb over a chrono. i think the police ha
  5. get your local farmers in your area, & ask if they need any help with controlling any rabbit, vermin problems. let them know you have insurance, that youll show respect for their land, livestock & bounderies.. the worst they can say is no.. the land i have access to is all in a stones throw from each other. youll find that when you do finally get permission other plots will fall into hand.. other land owners neighbouring the land will see you out. remember one thing though.. once you do get your plot, treat it like gold as its hard to get & easy to lose. good luck in
  6. its not going to fall out the sky... i worked hard to get my permission & work hard to keep it, & it didnt come over night. get on the phone & start calling local farmers. if your next question is how do you find them, then " www.yell.com " will tell you.

    practice

in my 100yrd`er i have 200yrds on netting. i also have my top line pulled tight & leave my bottom line loose so it can sit on the ground comfortably. works a treat.. saying that, i also have a 50yrd`er with 75yrds of netting & a bottom leaded line & i just lowered the top line slightly to help add to the bagging in height.. used it last time i was out & caught two bolters... richie

    Help

are you using a quickset basket ? if not, for the sake of £40 it will save you alot of time & trouble.. i can lay a 100yrd`er if rushing in under a couple of minutes... & double that to pick it back up again.. richie
  10. i voted 2" as this is what ive always used & always got on well with them & my ferrets pass through them with no problem.. richie
  11. their remote control.... just kidding.. you place the net over the hole & stake the peg in the ground in the opposite direction as the tunnel runs out, also at an angle to stop the peg from been pulled out with the force of the rabbit hitting the net " if that make sense.. & i also stick the ring on the end of the net into the ground just to make sure the rabbit wont manage to get under the net & do the off. as the rabbit runs into the net the draw cord will stay in place & the net will close up on the rabbit.. richie
