  3. went out this morning to clear a small mound of earth covered in scrap & crap with only 6 holes... too many twigs in the way to purse up so i decided to just throw the longnet round.. entered squeek, after 5 minutes had my first bolter & went straight into the net.. after i necked it out flew squeek & jumped on it for one last fight . i put him back in & after another 10 minutes had the second bolter & tried to make a dash for it but ended up catching him aswell in the long net.. he came chasing behind again so i put squeek back in the box & took "B" out. i let her d
  4. try calling out a number on your mobile or your voice mail box so the phone signal can start ommitting & place the mk3 receiver next to the phone, it should start interfering.. when i was out a while back my mk3 was going mad & i couldnt get a pin point on the ferts.... my phone rang in my pocket & it went more erratic... after that i put it far away & it was fine after that... richie
  5. its all well learning the old skills, but sometimes you have to move with the times & technology.. i use mine for piece of mind just so i know what their doing & their movements. but i can still say ive never had to dig down to a ferret yet, still no lay-ups. i recall about a month ago when i was out doing a set & i clocked my jill at 9 foot down & she was only moving back & forth about 1 or 2 feet so i knew she had hold of a rabbit, they was no way i would even attempt digging down that far. after about 25 minutes she surfaced with claret all over her face so i kne
  6. in my experience, & with my mk1 rapid my rifle didnt shoot pest control well over long ranges & had a grouping of over an inch at 25 yds which is not acceptable.. after going out & buying at least 10 different types of pellets, mainly bisley & spending a long morning down the gun club shooting on an indoor range at 25 yrds bench resting, i found bisley LRG were the most accurate as it was pellet on pellet.. when i do get a chance to get the air rifle out, i have no problem banging them down at 40 yds.. one thing i will say though, every make of rifle will shoot a pell
  7. nice one.... seven foot ! you legend.. just goes to show how useful a locator is.. do you have your long net set up a quick set ? richie
  8. no problem... i use 3 at a time... richie
  9. ill give you a bit of advice... type in yell.com to get your local farmers in your area, & get your dad to talk to them & ask if they need any help with controlling any rabbit, vermin problems. let them know you have insurance, that youll show respect for their land, livestock & bounderies.. the worst they can say is no.. i have access to 1500 acres of land which is all in a stones throw from each other. youll find that when you do finally get permission other plots will fall into hand.. other land owners neighbouring the land will see you out. this week im due to me
  10. TOP BLOKE TO DEAL WITH...

  11. ive been thinking of buying one of these for a while now & am now going to get one as i have good use for one... their the camera that takes pictures when movement is detected within a certain distance.. i would rather go for a model that has an invisible infre flash rather than a light flash.. thanks richie
  12. good on yer... everyone counts..
  13. personally... i wouldnt put any of my ferrets down without a collar on..... but if you did, then id make sure they were fed up well unless you like waiting around for a ferret to appear.. might be a good idea aswell to sling a bell around their necks so you have some chance of maybe hearing where it is.. probably end up getting full of mud though.. as hob & jill says, do a search for past topics. richie
  14. hi jim.... youre welcome. it was a pleasure meeting you, & thanks for giving me a hand.. looking forward to our next meet. i was expecting to get a few more bolting from that first set we netted up but im happy to take 3 from there & glad more were killed under ground.. plus with the others i got there the other day will keep the farmer happy.. im looking forward to doing that large set we visited today.. i think we must of counted over 65 or more holes that seemed active as that place has never been ferreted. ill do the recce before hand then hopefully when we hit it we`ll get
  15. right, after seeing the bloke who made "santas nets", im itching to have a go at making some my self. can anyone put me in the right direction, where to buy nylon, rings, books ect. appreciation in advance. richie
  16. for the money you want to spend... get your self a cz 452 varmint .22, comes with the heavier barrel.. also screw cut for a moderator. i put a sak on mine & its silent. i use eley subs and they are bang on.. in my personal opinion i wouldnt bother with winchester subs, not accurate in my cz. i stick to what works. pictured is 5 shots at 25 yards bench resting using eley subs.
  17. merry xmas & i hope the new year is a gooden.... richie
