  1. youre right, long nets would be easier next time. the sets are spaced out in sections. the set i worked today went on for about 40 yds on a steep bank and the long net would of got one of the bolters, but the two others would of ended up hopping from one hole to another . to be honest i was thinking the same when i was setting the purses out thinking it was a bit of a bollock ache thats why next time im going to set my 100 yarder round the set to get the bolters wanting to leave the set and do a linford christie and set a few 12 footers through the set to get the hoppers. as for the tra
  2. yeah i was lucky to get the shot of the bolter... i heard a lot of banging around near a group of holes and just had the camera ready.... bit of luck really...
  3. whats the point of me leaving it in the motor ? if the day ever comes when i have a lay-up " touch wood " i dont have to leave the spot to leg it back to get the trap. how do i know when i leave to get it the ferret hasnt already come out & wondered else where under some under growth & out of sight & out of distance for my locator ? if i have it to hand all i have to do is fill every hole up apart from the one i last put it down & leave the trap by the hole... question answered ?
  4. went out to visit one of the plots on a new piece of permission. it has a main hedge of 700yds, im going to be working my way from one end to another over the next couple of weeks / months depending on how much i get out... took my hob out with my new jill. shes getting on well. i only ended up staying out for an hour as the weather was turning. a few shots..... the first bolter..... treating my two workers to a bit of liver... i only ended up with 3, but that was enough to take back...

  7. there about as useful as a chocolate saucepan, & there not worth a w@nk ! they cost roughly £9 a tin of 200. i bought them to use on my rapid mk1, they dont even fit in the magazines as there too long. i ended up loading them one by one. accuracy is shite. just a gimmick.

  10. i always make sure i know my target before the trigger gets pulled. just picked up another 600 acres or so and spent a good couple of visits before i even thought of taking my rimmy there. and dont worry pat, i wouldnt just shoot at a pair of eyes. . i aint been out with it for a while now with the nv, gonna get out tomorrow night. ill say one thing though.... nv is addictive. richie
  11. How much did the laser set you back? £200 beats the 150mw illuminator hands down.
  12. i also have mine on my rimmy. got my merlin attached back on my simmons 4-12x44 i use x6 most of the time & i can see rabbits clearly out to approx 120yds ish and make out the shape of the rabbit no problem, but going past that the shape is less clearer & getting on hard to make out, even though i can see eyes way over 175/200yds. ive tried mine on a few different scopes & there is quite a bit of difference in clarity, so i dont know if im missing out on something.... they " nightvisionsupplies " advised me to use a falcon optics 10x42T. just dont fancy having it on x10 especi

  16. well im going to hold my hands up and say i didnt know that... if i ever do come across an untamable ferret ill take it to the vets and let them decide, even if it costs me. still wouldnt kill one of my own ferrets.
  17. boris... not that i want to start making a meal of this but in my opinion i would rather let a ferret go in a lively field full coney than kill it, especially if it was a pet of mine. ferrets can fend for them selves, after all we do hunt with them and see what their capable of. as for me talking shit ! i think not, im expressing my opinion & not starting an arguement. and im the first one to admit when im wrong... you can get 100 people and ask the same question and get about 100 different answers. when i joined this forum i expected to have a bit of banter and share like minded
  18. listen mike... theres one thing having a dispute, but dont start calling people f*****g wankers ! and not expect me to bite back..
  19. i would choose to let one go than kill it...thats my choice.
  20. as i said i would rather let a wild ferret go loose than kill it, i take it that comment was directed to me !
