i now know whats its about ! i got the chance to take a bloke out with me on my patch to fly his female harris hawk. unreal feeling ! i had it come to me 5 or 6 times, the first time i thought it was going to knock me hard untill the last second when it flared off & gently landed on me. im definately going to be trying it again. sorry no pictures, didnt have a camera with me. rich

mine does the same ! when i click on my controls, all i can see is board settings & nothing in there to change the time delay or daylight settings.

Throwing traps away after 20 catches

next he will be advising where you can buy new traps... probably somewhere he has shares in.. -
the most noticeable difference when using a mk1 box with both mk1 & mk3 collars is that the beeps / pulses that are sent by the mk3 collar are twice as slow, handy when you want to know which ferret your picking up. also when using both collars which i sometimes do, the mk1 box will be up to 6" to 12" out when picking up mk3 collars.. thats what ive noticed ! i have 5 collars now, 3 x mk3 & 2 x mk1, but i am swaying over to the mk1 for practically, easier to use one hand. rich

i like what you done with the sleeping quarters in the 3rd picture down, easy access hatches to clean out.. i wouldnt bother with that water bowl though ! they will turn that over in no time, place a few large water bottles inside. me personally, i would put one or two small windows covered with 1"x 1" mesh for a bit of light & fresh air. rich

two thing i found strange whilst i was watching the documentary of the family the media made " dont know if anyone remembers it ? " they recorded the aftermath of the dissapearance & the moment she was found. one comment made by family members & that "auntie" the one that was arrested who lived next store was that they were upset & pissed off by the fact that no money was sent in to finance the search for shannon, & why did the mc cann appeal generate so much donations ? & secondly the way they were slagging the media off for sticking around after she was found whe

now thats what i call a court.... nice to see someone take the time to give them sleeping quarters like that.... i have similier meshing on the side of mine, but always had a problem with it when it start to rain & blow a bit.. i ended up placing a sheet of fine fly screen mesh that i could roll down when it starts pissing down & put back up when it stops, & it helps keep the wind blowing through it.. its a bollock ache when the floor gets wet.. rich

i dont bother weathering any of my traps, but i do wear my leather gloves for a few reasons. just incase a trap went off by mistake it softens the blow " not that its happened yet " & also not to leave any scent on them. heres a picture of a brand new mk4, shiny as you like. i think 9 times out of ten if their hungry enough theyll go for it.... well this one did anyway !

steve, it looks like you are using a good quality mesh there, did it come in a 8 x 4 sheet ? rich

the patch im going to put it has around 10+ maggies at a time either on the ground or flying around.. so i should do alright with it. i went for a non toxic dark wood preservative / stain to help it blend it where im going to be putting it. ive still got to put the mesh on, but the two different types i have i wont bother with. im waiting to get the mesh 1 x 1 with the green plastic coating on.

got in from the gun club tonight & saw this post... so i thought, im going to get out with the merlin tonight. got down the farm, as i pulled in the drive there were bunnies out, pulled up, loaded the mag, gun out the window ready to see whats about, turned the unit on, huh ?.................. NO f*****g BATTERIES ! left them at home.... still managed to get one though with the lights off the motor.. lesson learnt, keep a spare set in the glove box.

lately ive been noticing the bag of seeds in my shed getting more & more holes in the bottom of it... put it in a plastic container, & its still been got to. yesterday i decided to give one of those multi mouse traps a go, only cost a tenner, cant go wrong. i set it last night & checked it this morning & caught 3. has anyone else used one of these ?
