  1. let the youngens out to have a wonder.... their coming on well ....
  2. i ended up with 3 woodies in total in a very short time... it works a treat.
  3. put this up for those who dont know how a pigeon trap works. not exactly edge of the seat footage, but just to get an idea how they work. the target didnt start to get in untill 2.30 minutes.
  4. 10 minutes after baiting it i had a result...
  5. hi john... yes, the construction is based on the same idea as the larsen, makes it a stronger structure. as for the slot on the roof, i can just about squeeze my arm through it to get to the bait tray & if need be, ican reach around the whole trap. just thought it would be a good idea to put it there. i can always put a piece of mesh to cover it if i make no use of it. rich
  6. just finished putting together the pigeon trap & attached the mesh this morning... measurements: L 1000mm x W 700mm x H 600mm. attached a table to hold the seed, especially when its on grass. be putting it to work this week. & a thanks to johnb for supplying me with the bob wires...
  7. albino`s hobs & jills. come from genuine proven working stock parents. £10.00 each local areas: south bucks / top end M25 / junction 1 A1 /
  8. dont think im been negative, just been realistic but good luck with trying to attach it to the back of your scope.. whats the diameter of the front lense externally ? looks the same size as a front objective lense on a day scope. personally i reckon your wasting your time.. but hope you get on with it. i tried to attach a yukon ranger on a day scope a while back & with all the fiddling around & still trying to make the front objective of the nv unit accessible to be focused it was waste. get £300 together & get your self a merlin cobra with cage & an illuminat
  9. its totally legal. you just have to apply for the moderator on your FAC. " fire arms cert.
  10. i have found the perfect rifle that would suit your every need, back yard plinking, to targets over a couple of miles away, it would be a perfect rabbit gun. oh, & would be a perfect choice for dear & probably the other 20 standing behind it... only down side is the cost & each shot is around £7 so doing your own loading might be an option.
  11. heres the finished product of the larsen trap i put together.. got the plans from the book pictured below. easy & well detailed step by step plans to follow. loads of other trap plans: The Drop Top Box Trap, See-saw Trap, Rabbit Drop Box, Pigeon Trap, Ladder Trap ect ect i reckon ill be busy over the next few months.
  12. might as well throw my two bobs worth in... essexlad... dont take this the wrong way, but you seem very inexperienced. my advice would be to join a local rifle club where you can get taught the basic safe handling of a rifle be it an air rifle or a rimfire. when youve been a member for a certain number of months, depending what club it could be 3 months or 6, you could apply for your FAC. at least by going down this road you will learn a better understanding of rifles & their capabilities.
  13. not meaning to go off your original subject... but when i visited new orleans for mardi gra, i woke up in the morning to the news saying that there was 8 murders that night in town where we were staying.... shite hole !
  14. it matches my boots... & green is all the rage this season !
  15. i woke up in a bad mood ! but your comments did come across as though you were critisising me... ... especially when you said your concerned that i shoot down a hedge line. maybe you worded it wrongly. i dont know if im the right person to give advice, but when using a rimfire compared to an air rifle you have to be more aware of your surroundings at a further distance... theres always a few things i check for before i start to shoot. i always make sure i know my land by walking around & learning the lay out. whats behind the hedge ? wheres the nearest house or buildin
  16. yeah, i think you should start your own TOPIC instead of hijacking my thread with your safety concerns over my shooting. & concidering theres fields as far as the eye can see on the other edge of the hedges ! or shall i shoot through them ? never presume ! theres always a slight risk when letting off the shot, will the quarry move ? will it hit a stone ? will it pass through the quarry & hit a stone ? all we can do is minimise the risk by thinking ahead, but they will always be a risk.. dont question my safety & try & belittle me ! if your that concerned
  17. well worth changing it ! if you can get hold of a kit.. rich
  18. mm +/- then a slight re-adjustment. rich
  19. hi logic this is the unit i use. its the hypergen version. cost £2250 & worth every penny. http://www.nvscopes.com/night%20vision%20s...0HTH%20731.html rich Lotta money, but does look good it is a lot of money, but not for the quality of the unit. to be honest, that picture i took above looks shite compared with what the actual view is like through the scope. rich
  20. TOP BLOKE & ONE OF YOUR OWN !

  21. youre not wrong. every time i pop my head in they seem to grow more.. cant wait to put a few to work.
  22. hopefully steve, looking to get some biggens from this bunch!.. dont know how many to keep yet. going to be building an extra section on my court soon, its 7ft x 7ft x 7ft but going to make a few changes soon.
  23. Deker, all i can say is its chalk & cheese ! dont get me wrong, im a firm believer of " if it aint broke dont fix it " bit this was worth doing. my trigger feels responsive, smooth & you know when it will go off. for the sake of a few quid its worth it, & if you dont like the change you can always put the old spring back in. i shoot competion aswell, & by looking at my shooting down the club yesterday things are gonna get better. rich
