Genes and temperament - One of my best workers was from non working stock, and I have known people pay a huge amount of money for pups from working parents that have been useless. How much of that is genes, and how much is training I don't know, but like you said about horse racing - Saddlers Wells has awesome offspring, Shergar doesn't.

Can't say about the seat covers, as I have a dual cab, so the muddy beasties get shoved in the back - but in there I have a slab of stable matting - cheap, durable, easy clean, cushioned and (fairly) easy to attack with a knife to fit around the shape of the boot.

I'd heard that yeast supplement/vitamin B/marmite can help - something about it coming through onto the pores of the skin. I am guessing the same happens with garlic. Mine get marmite - never seen a flea on any of them.

Garmin. My brother has one with Mr T from the A-Team as the voice. It says things like " TURN LEFT FOOL !" If I am using his car, all journeys take 20 mins extra just because I love hearing it telling me to turn !
