  1. rockpooling and generally running amock on the beach mooching about on the moors with friends and any dogs we could muster, pretending to hunt with them. working all weekend at the local riding stables mucking out 40 horses in exchange for a 30 minute lesson !
  2. I am hoping that as the meat was processed in a plant that makes food for human consumption, then it would have been horse meat slaughtered for human consumption, so subject to the same standards as the joints/steaks/mince etc that is sold in French supermarkets/butchers. I haven't eaten any - I don't trust those processed frozen food things - but I don't have a problem with horse meat being eaten in general. As long as I know what I am eating, I am happy.
  3. why is it nota good idea It's to do with the time it takes to digest and process - as in all things, some dogs will have no ill effects at all, some will be unlucky. I had a ridgeback who could eat maggoty rotten rubbish and it wouldn't even make him fart - one of my lurchers will shit through the eye of a needle for a week if his dinner gets changed at all.
  4. All poultry is starved upto 24 hours before its taken off farm so they have empty crops and intestine. I'm sure it is - doesn't mean I want to eat their beak, crop and intestine though
  5. Although i must say that she has been incredible in the respect that she has stayed with me all of these years, despite my penis only being 1.5 inches, !! Just saying, but that's one of those things that comes under the " too much information" banner
  6. the sagging of your jeans and trackies showing your underwear, started of in the american jails.it was basically a sign to say you were willing to takie it up the arse. wonder if the wee angels and chavs realise that, silly wee fuckers Nope, never realised that. But I am going to have fun tonight informing them what their clothing choices say about them
  7. I think people are unrealistic about food these days. If they knew how much work went into producing meat of any sort in the UK, they would understand why not only decent meat cuts are the price they are, but why it is daft to expect there to be anything like decent quality meat in a pack of 8 burgers costing 99p It sounds like someone in the Findus factory has made a huge profit using low priced french horse meat instead of beef.
  8. you said i could have one to catch a few rabbits with I changed my mind on hearing you would soak their dinner in cold water Mine are just not used to that sort of abuse
  9. Findus are going to have fun trying to explain that one away - 100% horse meat ? Someone must have known about that, rather than it being " accidental contamination "
  10. It's sensible to plan ahead. None of my family have the slightest interest in animals, and I wouldn't ask or expect them to deal with them when I die - whenever that may be. I have agreements with one friend to sort the dogs, and another to sort the horses, and I will do the same for them in a similar situation. It's written into my will, so they don't end up at a rescue place. What they choose to do with them is up to them - but I trust them both totally, to do the right thing.
  11. get your mind out the gutter lol I'm a nurse - my mind doesn't do dry land !
  12. I'll get back to the kitchen shall I ?!
  13. You only hate the pit bull cos he's always right,,, I'm always surprised when folk mention Moore I think he's the best pundit commentator out there always fair and straight with both sides,, ten times better than Jonathan Davies ,, or butler Agree. He says it how it is - and doesn't pull punches, or mince words. If he thinks your side are playing shite, he says so ! And he is incredibly articulate, and explains things very well. As commentators go, him and John Francome ( ok, so I switched sports a little ) have got to be the best. Another pet hate of mine is the new channel 4 racing t
  14. SCAM ! I hate people sending bogus warnings but this is real and important. If someone comes to your door saying they are checking for ticks now the snow is gone, and you need to twirl around in the garden with your clothes off, DON"T believe them - it's a scam - they just want to see you naked. I wish I had seen this yesterday. God I feel so stupid :-(

  15. If thats part of it it sounds a piece of piss................ lol, it wasn't. I would be master of that one. There were parts of the course that made you long to be knee deep in freezing cold muddy water - just for a breather !
  16. Me and my brother have done it - raising money for Help for Heroes - I agreed only if it was the summer one - and OMG it was tough. I'm not a wimp, but I couldn't move for a week afterwards. I couldn't even reach the maltesers on the bedside table I ached so much. Never again.
  17. I do. For £15 a year, why take the risk ? I've looked after enough dogs shitting their life blood away with parvo to know that I will do whatever I can to make sure mine don't end up like that.
  18. I've known vets miss this at the puppy checks - cryptorchid - they normally advise removal of the missing one as it stays in the abdomen and as it is at a higher temp than they are designed for, can go cancerous.
  19. what poison do you put down for them......... The people or the badgers !
  20. It's essentially the same as hibiscrub, by a different manufacturer. Great antiseptic to have - I use it on all skin wounds/sores/nicks/rashes etc to clean things up. I use it dilute, and rinse in clean cool water after. If you give a wound a good clean with it using cottonwood, it froths a little, and if it isn't rinsed can ( not always, but sometimes) cause a rash on it's own.
  21. All mine are chipped. If they get lost, they can trace them back to me. Not sure about it being enforced as law, as I can't see it being either popular, or enforceable, but the government do seem to like bringing in stuff like this....
  22. I don't have kids, but watch my 2 nephews changing behaviour with interest - they are 3 and 5, and already learning to manipulate situations. My sister has gone down the " I don't believe in discipline, they are kids, they will learn in time" route. So when the older one refused to go to bed last week, she let him stay up til he fell asleep in the lounge at gone midnight, He was shattered and whingey all the next day, but she was adamant he would learn that being tired the next day was a consequence, and as such, would agree to go to bed earlier. It hasn't happened yet. Having said that,
