I knew once you come into it Phil you would have the definitive.. When the Walsh book came out back in the 70's he dedicated a chapter called 'starting from scratch', I remember reading it and thought... Sounds fantastic but Feck that..! Back then I couldn't see past my next nights lamping never mind a 20 year project... Nah, I think reading those pages, 'ol Ted may have put me off for life an thats why I've 'almost' always gone somewhere else for my stock. Fair play to ya Phil, or anyone else thats taken up the baton and looking back I wish I had the vision... but I missed that

100% right Stig, what 'seems' to be the case in the terrier world is the lean toward dogs, as you said, because of 'names'. I see it more with younger lads getting into the game, its dogs only in the kennels. I think lads who have been in the game longer know the value of a good bitch and rightly so. You can have the best dog in the world but if your putting it to unproven bitches because thats all you got or can find, your a damn fool..!

Thanks all for the input folks, I will get a pic up. James, i'd be just about useless with zero interest in the mechanics of a job like that. So, the question is, would it be worth taking to someone or could I get sommat better for the money it'd cost for the job?

Alright all, Very rare I post in this section but i've just acquired an old (it looks it?) elgammo gun off an old lady near my mums. Apparently it was her late husbands. I can see it's just a 'plinker' but could it make a ok'ish gun for knocking off a woody to feed my ferret or the odd garden rat or rabbit and if so, what would I need to do or who would I take it too? Right now, even with my limited knowledge I know its power is piss poor. You could fire it, put the gun down, run the garden an catch the pellet before it hit the back fence..! Thanks

A long time ago when I was a young lifeguard I was 'none contract' as we say, just when required at that age it suited me fine and I could either put serious graft in, for good money, or have my time as I wanted. Though I wasn't, it suited students even better. No different for the lifeguards that work under me now, they'd feck off quick smart if I came along waiving a set hours contract at 'em..!

Same as that but living near a stud for the last 2 years it has got better but I just don't touch them now.I went out with an equine vet once it seriously nearly killed me!!! You don't live anywhere near me...!

What I'll never understand, what really boils my piss, is that at each and every riot this country has seen people just think they can wander around in the middle of it, either all aimless or with that I don't give a feck attitude..?
