  1. For the money they are, either is well worth a punt IMO, especially that Cocker cross..!
  2. Aye, those dogs of yours Phil, as Tomo says, do look just about indestructible... As Paulus said, as are most first crosses, here's another...
  3. I've got insurance, my Mrs talked me into it after a recent spate of accidents and deaths (I lost two promising youngsters and my old dog lost an eye and then had spinal trauma) which all sounds bad but after 30+ years with working dogs i've only had the odd stitch needed before and I done most treatments myself... Then my old vet retired, he was like the type Weasle mentioned, rural, mostly big animal treatments, no messin an dirt cheap. So I was left to find a good local... Impossible, so to give my Mrs piece of mind, insurance it was... Edited to add, is it just me, because a bill of 4
  4. sadness will pass, but you should be proud of yourself and your dog look at the life you had together and he was obviously more than capable, a sense of great pride will soon replace your heartbreak of what that dog done for you. he will be top in your own personal hall of fame. keep your head high and celebrate his life not his death, and put the work in front of his pup and give him the chances you gave his dad. Spot on...
  5. Great series so far, i'm hooked....
  6. Massive hit here and all over Europe i'll bet.
  7. Catherine Cookson, that name takes me back a bit... Books me mum read back in the 70's, loads of 'em. They made a couple into drama's too if I remember, The Mallens was one. As for them old period dramas, I remember To Serve Them All My Days and Flambards
  8. Lucky there Socks, a bigger dog in that situation could have burst that half open window. Seen it done with one of those HiLiux rear windows.
  9. While id like to crush his larynx with my boot........yous lot started it ! http://www.astabgay.com/KingsOfCamp/LarryGrayson.htm Oh, shut that door.... He was from Banbury, must be were the rhyme comes from, 'Ride a cock horse...'
  10. Folk who want to watch big muscle men man handling other men for pleasure, really need to look in their own back yard first... And yep, the North is full of pillow biters...
  11. Yep, IMO opinion all this greatest guitar stuff is bollox anyway because folk sit on two sides of the fence, those who see it as accomplishment, as in the classic playing of a guitar only and those, like me, who see it as great only when its apart of sommat else, as in within a song. 'Ol Django may have been truly gifted, like Malmsteen or Satriani and they may have inspired folk in their millions.... But if I ain't hearing anything I can tap my feet to, or instantly recognising as a song that makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up within the first two bars... I don't give a flyin
  12. I'd agree with that Aaron, because The Edge is with U2 and not your classic style rock band he does get very much overlooked BUT few players have made such iconic sounds through a guitar, ever..! Doubt that... Well, like 'em or not how many U2 riffs can you think of in the past 20 or so years, or how many would instantly, within a few bars, be instantly recognised as a U2 'hit' and then ask yourself how many have their been... Wikipedia their back catalogue, its quite shocking..! Oh yer, that story bit that Aaron spoke about, well thats what he does, Bono gives him a picture of what hi
  13. Now I do like Jake, got a bit of 'substance' about him...
  14. Unless there was sommat I needed and I couldn't get it on line or anywhere else, i'd never go to the Midland again... IMO, though the dog folk made up the numbers for years and years and were the bread and butter of the event, they (as have the other big shows) pushed us well and truly into the shadows. From a country point of view, unless you've a double barreled surname and are dressed in Harris tweeds they ain't marketing it for you BUT your money will do nicely if your fool enough to go.... And proof... Well read back on Zig Zag Dan's post...
  15. Lick (wet) the stamp, press hands back to back and Bob's your cross dressing auntie...
  16. Johnny, I've just read that and then out loud to my Mrs, both of us cannot imagine what you have gone through, so sorry to hear of your loss. Our very best to you and yours.
  17. Wolfy, good to see you back on here again, stick around, the forum needs you... and I'll drop by yours this week. Mart, i've just realised who you are, good to see your on here mate.
  18. Dont know how old you are but i wouldnt imagine you ever got called " Ste " as a kid did you ?......Seems like another one of these trendy mid life crisis things..........aint got any tribal tattoos as well have you ? In this city it's Ste more than Steve. Got a few mates that would give me a right dirty look and more if I called 'em Steve... Proper 70's sounding... 'Steve'
  19. Whilst I totally see your point mate, i'm sure they would be well down the list, especially when you look at the bull blood craze... And whilst i'm on me soapbox, anyone who wants to spend grands importing a mutt from the US wants their fecking bumps testing IMO, there is blood just as good here, you just need to find it and be as fecking ruthless and honest with it as those boys over there and THAT is the problem with 99% of folk who breed here... I'd go as far as to bet that if you imported one and bred from it, ALL the resulting litter would go on to produce, because of what they ar
  20. Feck me that Cordings site has some nice gear in it, love that country gent look... Oh for the money eh... Anyways, I'll just stick to the Liverpool Scally look in the field i've always gone for... Tracky bottoms, black North Face jacket and me Reebok's... (at least they're 'Classics'!)
  21. You really need to get out more...
  22. Rake... As I said before Ste Vai, as gifted as he is, lives in a parallel universe where must think people tap their feet to his twangs and runs, the minute he flips out in the film Crossroads I knew he was a loon and don't start me on Yngwie, who's names as bad as his playing....
  23. Scenery's got everything there Jerry.... Fabulous...! Wild animals, tree's and nature, even a little drinking spot for the dogs when their walked off their feet. Them grey bins look a bit tricky for the dogs though, when they are full pelt on a course.... And Fuji thinks he's got it good eh....
  24. Been hearing quite a bit about this helmet round my end but have yet to meet him. From what I gather he's very good at bullying youngsters and taking any equipment they have for confiscation, mostly when they are not on any land. Surprisingly I have yet to meet him, though I know he's done a few drive-bys in front of my house.
