  1. She's a customer and with that in mind i would simply ask her if you can have a propper word. Sit down together and tell her about your worries BUT only from your personal point of view! I'm sure if you explain she would be more than happy to help, as i'd bet she's happy with the work you do. This case proves a good point i always try to make, when folks bang on about big double 'ard guard dogs that they feel they 'need' to have to protect sommat. A dog like that loose, can be a bigger liability than it is ever a deterent...!!
  2. Do the lads in the North East still have 'em? Funny but I was with those lads a couple of weeks back but forgot to ask..!
  3. Last of the Mohicans. The Searchers City of God Rocky 1 Young Frankenstein Any narrated film... A lot of very good films have narration.
  4. I have both types in my garden but the foliage and stems are thicker and darker.
  5. Crackin pups Chidly, i'd only be keeping the one on though (and i know which one!) You will be able to put more work into it. The other i'd be putting out to a solid working home and keeping a close eye on it.
  6. Another good day in bloody good company. I see so many good lads there its difficult to get to have a good natter to them all. Aaron we will have that big catch up soon mate and thank you for the slips. Good to see All Terrain, Dogginlad, Paddy, Bird and loads more. Good to go down with two mates who i've hunted with for 30 years. Dillydog, did i see you leave in a pick up with some nice chockies together in the back? Just one thing to those cracking lads that run the show for next year.... Sort the 'chuck wagon' out and get a bigger run of the mill greasy spoon type one on site.
  7. Wilf, there was a lad on here called Thomas Walsh. He had dogs on off the same stuff as mine. I know the original dogs that went over and they were some of the very best. That stuff is over there but apart from him i dont know anyone that has it there BUT it is there and i know if someone could put you on to them they would be all you'd want and more.
  8. do you keep them on leads or what ? Mine would be hunting on same walks if i liked it or not I live in the middle of open countryside, what do you think Chris...
  9. Same daily walks as winter but without the work. I make sure they can sprawl out and bask in the sunshine too. As a wild predator would. Then just step the excercise up as the days get shorter. All the excersise in the world wont get your dog match fit but it certainly gets the ball rolling.
  10. Hope he comes back as i've been waiting to use him, he's bloody good!
  11. Very clever but i'd bet it ain't man enough.. What you need is a real power tool company making it but then you'd need to be a Prem footballers Dad to own it...!
  12. Nettles are hard on puppys, especially little 'uns. I try to avoid em when they are young. As has been said an anti-histamine can work well if your dog is older and you 'need' to work/walk it through em but in general they toughen up and they aviod em themselves. Woe be tide the dog that jibs ploughing through em for quarry though..!!!
  13. I honestly think they are well respected Staffs, this thred is testement to that. Genuine 1st crosses of whatever type are still held in high regard, not just by the people who run em but by many who know they were/are the foundation of, well, just about everything! But and it's a massive BUT times have moved on and a new (ish!) breed is here and here to stay. It brings much more into the equation than any purebred. If anyones so inclined, go traditional, stick with the greyhound, find a good 'un and you'll breed good, fast servicable offspring, to any lurcher out there but if you really
  14. people want the best understandable but some take it to extreme more interested in how they look ffs A dog fed well and worked well will look the part. No ifs or buts Here's one Gaz... But what if aint been wormed... lol
  15. Didn't realise Farage was standing in Newcastle.... Remember lads you're voting for your local MP not the leader of the party And thats exactly what fecks me right off in a GE. Our local Labour MP is a decent enough bloke, put a bit of weight behind a local problem with fly tipping BUT he aint got my vote because i dont like his partys policies and would feel sick if that sniveling, slimey cnut of a bloke Milliband was our PM, he's a fecking embarissment..!
  16. Lets not kid ourselves, sure you can bring a greyhound up to be a decent enough catcher of quarry and maybe even some other things, especially if its digits hold up in the field but they have massive limitations and problems. I know this from expierience BUT why take that gamble when there are coursing blooded dogs, that are plenty fast enough, breed true to type, have a physical constitution that goes way way beyond their type and have hunted and killed best to best over here for near 50 years... To inject speed (never mind the other stuff!) into a lurcher, look no further...!
  17. So, after all this time, who's got a copy they can show on here... Anyone?
  18. I remember it.... Shite it was too! Came about not long after OFAH was running its self into the ground also. I see Washie's travels more alike to "Ali in the cnut Ali in the cnut Ali in the cnutryside..." Remember that?
  19. Good singer, iconic songs and always came across on screen as a nice happy guy and for me thats the mark of a true professional.
  20. So, who's who on them photos, i remember it being done, just didn't know who was in it...?
  21. If you wanna keep weight down its the best..! Seriously, feed the best you can but ensure that it's affordable, sustainable and easy... In my expierience, most people are either bad feeders or take things over the top. Just find the middle ground and your dog will be fine..!!
  22. Some great advice above. Like the others, i've never weighed a dog, terrier or lurcher, nor their food, i have a old metal jug (a school dinner gravy an custard one,) and i measure all dry in that. If it's raw its measured by what it is and/or by the ammount in the bowl. All done by eye. If your keeping a keen eye, you will see differences almost daily and so by working out the food and then also thinking about excercise, work and seasons you'll always come to the optimum ammount for the individual dog.
