  1. Admit it, Kay; You're really just a self(ie) obsessed 'Urban Explorer', aren't you? Good eye though. And what must be a hell of a camera!
  2. Cheers, lads. Okay. I've ate my dinner and am now relaxing, quite nicely, with my Jameson ration. Thing is, all this talk of " Tack Welding ", " M 16 " (Machine guns?! ) and " Pinky's " is getting lost on me. Mark; I'll look forward to seeing what ye have in mind, mate. I happen to have the exact length of chain here. Brand new. Bought for a project that never came out. I'll be buying the various swivels and split links I need, when I go to town. I've already ordered a J.C. Conner T Bar Shock Spring for the rig. Because my Dogs get nothing but the best, And these, in my opinio
  3. Want to buy a 200 yard reel of twisted steel trace, Lee? Seriously. I have it here. Hatched all sorts of plans to allow a Dog a great dashing up and down run. Trouble is, it tends to wind up needing telegraph pole thick structures sunk deep into the earth, to support said High Wire and bare the Dog hitting the end of it. Truth is; I've had Lots of Dogs on chains, for years now. Ironed out the little niggles. It's just that I'm out of anchoring points / space and will need to fix into open space, rather than a wall. I know some of the US guys chain their Dogs on a circle of concrete
  4. Mark; I've thought about most things in my time. Experience has shown simple works best. An eye bolt then. Not high enough above the concrete for the chain to wrap around. Just wondering if there's anything I'm missing. Aha! And here's Heritage. What's " All Thread ", please? Never heard of it! Haymin; Time for ye medicine and night, nights, sweetheart
  5. I'm not envious ..... Much! What's that ye using on the bottom of the cage, please, Franc?
  6. Dog Chain. I make a cracking rig. No problem there. It's just the anchoring point, this time. Space limitations dictate that this chain must run from the centre of open ground. Dog, chained to a wall will traverse a semi circle in front of that wall. Sink a scaffold bar, vertically, and drop a steel ring over it, with the chain attached to the ring? Dog runs round in circles. And, before ye can say " Bad Idea! ", that Dog is, at best, stood listening, very closely, to that scaffold pole. F**king chain catches and wraps round the bottom of the pole. See? So; I'm thinking an eye.
  7. I haven't read this thread because it's all old hat to me. I gave up smoking several years ago and I'm not here to proselytise how I did it either. I just wanted to mention something ..... The other day, I was searching for something. F**k knows what. But, I thought it might be down there. Amongst all that darkness, dust, cobwebs and f**k knows. I seem to feel I found it. But, what else I found so shook me to the core that it's simply wiped the matter. I found two, 500g jars. Screw top lids. Thinking, " WTF?! ", I scraped the dust off and stared, uncomprehending, for a moment, at t
  8. :icon_eek: Oh My F**king God!!!!! I've only just spotted this, Wilkes, you greasy f**ker! Now, I can barely f**king breathe!!! Pinch me, someone! This is Surely a dream?! You've f**king cracked it!!!!!
  9. Gnipper; Sorry, mate. Wasn't ignoring your post. I was amongst the stout when I saw it and tried to formulate a reply, last night. Read my response to Fires as for you too. This is an emotive issue, what ever our core thoughts. Not one to be thrashed out over five pints. Oh, and I must profess a vested interest too: While I intend to keep and breed my colour canaries safely inside their room and their cages there? I really, Really would like to get a singer or two, just to hang out of a sunny day. Fill the air with song. I'd put him in a cage within a cage, of course. But, what f
  10. Ahgh, jesus christ, Fires!!! I just don't know what to say around these bloody things, mate. And I mean that. No bullshit about me having to 'say the right thing' in public. As a known ringer. Sit beside me out on the land here and I Still wouldn't have an answer. I f**king despise the c***s who try to wipe out every last hook beak, just in the name of f**king profit from their artificially nurtured cash crops. But, it's a simple fact; The spars are back. And they're loving it. Fine, if they're taking wild birds from our feeders. That's what they evolved to do and wild birds have
  11. Yep. More tears in the making, right there
  12. There's some dead f**king ringers on there alright! That Nick Cage looks uncannily like Stabba though
  13. Cheers, Socks; Just goes to show my own, intense, level of interest in all this. It never even occurred to me that, of course, he's 3/4 man and would have been doing what ever he does without his skis on.
  14. After having taken infinite care not to rupture those bloody scent glands!
  15. Just ringed a male chaffie. And this little f**ker was bloody Murder! He was like one of those 'flying birds' we used to get. Wind the shit out of their rubber band and off they'd go. Flapping like mad. Little bugger just wouldn't stop thrashing about and struggling. Frankly? I was glad to just get him weighed and let him go. It was only then, coming back in the back door that it dawned on me! Let's rewind here ..... I said to the Dogs; " Wait here. I need to check my traps. " And went into the kitchen. There I approached the back door. Clear glass in the top half. I saw I
  16. Well, That's good news! Come July, I'll be looking out for some mind bendingly good news! Now, go grab a couple of rough sawn planks and get cracking on some nest boxes for ye garden, and any other safe but accessible spots. Next step is to get some bugger to drop by and get ye ringing the chicks in them! If all else fails? Get ye arse over here!
  17. Interesting picture (I didn't want to cloud things by calling it a shot). There appears to be the one, visible entry wound and two exits. That lower one could be either, I s'pose. Now, I wasn't there at the post mortem and I'm not of any firm opinions, based on a single, grainy photo. But; I wonder how he managed to get two (at least) into her head? Some f**king finger speed, surely? Not trying to suggest any conspiracy shit here. I haven't taken a blind bit of notice of this whole circus. Just looked at the photo because it's human nature to do so. Wonder if he heard " Thud! " and
  18. Waz! That was f**king vicious! (F**king hilarious ~ But, vicious! )
  19. No sign of Millet on the bird scene ..... Alien abduction?
  20. An oldie, but, a goodie. And I'm enjoying a quiet pint, or ten .....
  21. Talt; I believe Carbolic soap is what they use. No idea if Imperial Leather works as well
  22. Interesting one, Gnash. I was reading, on one of the colour canary fora, that this is a deliberate practice. I think stemming from the continent? Ye just don't give the birds any materials. Saves on mites. Though, I also believe some just think that is a crazy reasoning.
  23. I do love how you think outside the box!
  24. I've waited f**king Years to use this ....!
